General / The last one... (homemade whiskey doc.)
« on: November 21, 2009, 09:56:01 PM »
Just caught a documentary on home whiskey distilling, "the last one." Definitely worth the watch... Couldn't find it straight-off for free. Might be a torrent, or keep an eye on the doc. channel.

Was followed by a doc. on the Florida "skunk ape" :)...

Don't know if they have it there, but the one I got, I opted for traffic school... 6 hours of i-net based crap and had to take a test in proximity to a notary public... No points, though, which can be far more expensive than the ticket.

(More speak from my f-d up head.)

Just let it go. Idk why you would even have her on your facebook. Even being the self-important bastard I am, I could give a shit less about any of my exes...

Never really gone through a bad break-up, though...

General / Re: Let's Vote Against FTL on Podcast Alley
« on: November 05, 2009, 11:15:29 AM »
This kind of goes to the root on something I've thought for years...

FTL is a radio show... New listeners all the time, etc. Going over the same things over and over works in that format, where that just doesn't fly in the podcast world. (I know there're some RBR listeners around; just look at some of the crazy shit they've done to keep it fresh. If Ian could bring a can of silly-string, or a cap gun, to the studio some day...)

I love FTL, and will always AMP, but I've wondered if it might be time for them to drop much of the podcast aspect, and just concentrate on being the radio show it is.

(And, yeah, I agree that there's been a lot of jibber-jabber recently... If there's no callers, though... No such thing as a boring situation, only boring people. As said, you *could* call in if you have something to say.)

Just my 2 cents (And, armchair quarterbacking, I might add.). Peace.

PS. Vote red bar, idk what "double feature" is.

"Snowpenis" - but I'm immature and I suppose it'll always tickle me in some way...

Early x-mas, 2005, iirc.

Thx, both.

To the rest, sorry for the spam; was drunk and bored (and a li'l fired up).

I keep watching the shark one... I think I've finally found something that I fear... (One shot has a 'white that's near a half of a helicopter in length. Eek!)

Shit! Lots of it on my mind... The urge to be violent runs strong... (Fucking self-important pigs with their ideas...) I won't make that argument, though.

In watching a "Los Crudos" vid earlier, a single word stuck out to me: ingobernables. If I picked just one word to say how I feel, I think that would be it.

Kapu! Called it first :).

I don't know the price range I'm working in... 2k is an awful lot to just lop off...

A good idea for any vehicle which may have been crashed is to have an alignment done, by someone you trust. Most frame tweaks will be incredibly apparent, and it probably won't align right. Also, have camber checked and overall dimensions should be identical, generally speaking. *Many* shops will just tell you it was aligned, regardless of condition; make sure you trust them.

That said, I currently drive a rusted-out '89 escort with multiple hits... Works fine, just needed some tlc. The radiator almost fell out once, but nothing a little bailing wire, duct tape, and epoxy can't fix :).

« on: October 23, 2009, 02:29:42 AM »
Fell off a horse when I was 3 or 4...

Lots of slamdancing injuries... Probably the best: at my friend's, 14 yo., someone tripped me in such a way that I came up parallel to the floor ~6' high and came down on the front brace/bar of a chair, a 2"x4" about a foot off the floor - no cushion over it. Got kicked in the head by three skinheads for about a minute around that same time...

A cop hit me in the head with a flashlight for a few minutes, but it didn't really hurt... I merely informed him that the person he was beating was a 14 yo. girl to get that one.

My dad, once, hard. Beer run at 4 am; I didn't blame him. That's the only time I saw stars.

Many others. Probably none very interesting.

General / A poem: The Bloody Sire - Robinson Jeffers
« on: September 10, 2009, 12:28:16 PM »
Just ran across this in some of my old stuff. I'm not intending to spark debate, just reproducing for reading enjoyment. Anyone looking for further reading might look up the philosophy of romantic-mysticism...

The Bloody Sire - Robinson Jeffers

It is not bad. Let them play.
Let the guns bark and the bombing-plane
Speak his prodigious blasphemies.
It is not bad, it is high time,
Stark violence is still the sire of all the world's values.

What but the wolf's tooth whittled so fine
The fleet limbs of the antelope?
What but fear winged the birds, and hunger
Jeweled with such eyes the great goshawk's head?
Violence has been the sire of all the world's values.

Who would remember Helen's face
Lacking the terrible halo of spears?
Who formed Christ but Herod and Caeser,
The cruel and bloody victories of Caeser?
Violence, the bloody sire of all the world's values.

Never weep, let them play,
Old violence is not too old to beget new values.

What is your girlfriend in for?

The rest of a sentence for DUI on a suspended liscense. Probably better; probation wasn't working for her.

Would have loved to give the cops a hard time; not the time or place.

I know how the state sees things, but it's not uncommon to find a cool judge. Whatev.s, just have to see what happens.

General / Just spent a 1/3 day in jail.
« on: August 18, 2009, 05:32:32 AM »
I just need to vent some on this...

Backstory: 3-1/2 years back, I was charged with two simple possesion charges (misdemeanors). I went to court on it, but the state hadn't filed their paperwork, so the charges were dropped. The state could re-file, and I was aware of that, but I thought they'd probably contact me about it.

My girlfriend is going in for a ~10 month stay, and had her first visitation day, so I thought I'd go see how she's doing. I filled out the paperwork and waited for about fifteen minutes, at which time a sheriff came in and asked for my identity. I knew what was up, but was the only person in the waiting room... Shit...

The short end of the story is that I spent ~8 hours processing in and back out and never saw a judge. Mind you, the whole mistake could have been cleared up in ~15 minutes. I'll go back in 2 weeks to find out that part of it. Luckily I was able to bond out, or I'd be there until whenever the judge felt like seeing me.

To top it off, the state decided to up the charges to felonies and throw in one for misconduct with a deadly weapon. (An unloaded 30-30 practice rifle becomes a felony if within a certain distance of plant material, apparently.)

It'll likely all be dropped, as their case is shit. (I know they didn't properly collect evidence at the time, and doubt 3 years improved their case.) It still sucks to have your day ruined like this.

The real shitty part is that this jail doesn't allow visitation from people who've spent time there, so I probably can't see my girl until she's transferred to a state prison...

Arrgh! I dislike skunks! They're cute, but the spray fuckin' stinks. No shit, I think the one that just sprayed has a radius of near 40 feet of stink power.

Now on to the evil monopolistic gang-ocracy of thug bastards that back the skunks... (jk, nhat. couldn't help myself.)
