The Polling Pit / Re: Are you for or against patents?
« on: February 16, 2009, 03:08:53 PM »
For, but they need to be modified:

Have independent patent "registries" where you can pay to have your idea logged so that there is a record of it. Perhaps the patent business will help you get investor connections for an extra fee.

EDIT: I am against force.

The letter assumes that this governmental entity has morals, which it doesn't.

s/baby/fetus/;

If you find his typo fixing posts annoying, ask the troll why he's a shithead. Or, you know, assume it's because of behavior like this.

Alex is trying to make his e-cock look big by showing everyone that he knows how to do a find/replace in perl.

You aren't the most tech-savvy person on this forum, Libman.

General / Re: Just saw Zeitgeist 1 & 2
« on: January 07, 2009, 05:32:22 PM »
Just watched the 2 Zeitgeist movies, and I wondered what the rest of the BBS thought...

and how come we don't advocate a resource-based society and we keep trying to push this monetary thing when we see the dark road it eventually leads us down towards.

I liked the Federal Reserve part. It really explained it in an easy to digest form.

You need to understand that Zeitgeist advocates futuristic communism. In the Zeitgeist world, if someone steals my milkshake I can go to the milkshake machine and manifest another one at zero cost because we have access to "unlimited resources". What happens when someone takes a baseball bat and goes to town on my dead mother's porcelain dog collection? They are irreplaceable because of their sentimental value. Humans naturally assign value to things, which is why you can't get rid of it.

You were spamming. If you delete my post for informing you, AS A MODERATOR, that you were spamming again, you and I are going to have problems, do you understand?

How arrogant. "OMG I AM AM MOD BOW DOWN TO MY POWERS".

I've never used one of these, but keep thinking about getting one of those tablet PCs -- is it tough to get accustomed to writing on one of these properly?  Any real issues using it day to day?

No. The lenovo's are very sensitive, which is good because it means that it can detect finer movements. The best advice I could give you is to not lose the stylus - they're expensive.

As for pencils, I like .5mm mechanical pencils.

.5mm lead breaks too easily for me. I prefer .7mm lead (graphite I guess).
