Oh but I'm sure if you had somehow accidentally made a logo based on a Garglesnorflat, and then learned about Tarkleshanks... you'd have to demonstrate how open minded you are by reevaluating your "position" right?

If Gene had been on time for dinner, he would have known that they were serving tarkleshanks with a garglesnorflat sauce last night... They announced it when the food was served...

Johnson (piledriver of reason), you have a desire to be right on everything, don't you?  Hey guess what?  YOU ARE RIGHT !!!

Now what?  pound your chest like a gorilla?

I can't even determine what it is you are trying to prove here...  That I demonstrate my positions by my actions?  Don't we all?

Just pointing out your little linguistic dishonesties. Since basically all religion (including strong atheism) is an act of fraud, it's not surprising that religious people tend to lie in many ways.

As an atheist, I resent that! Yes; Atheism is one of my religions.

A person who has no religion is a cynic and probably a nihilist; not the type of person I would be inclined to trust.

Just because there are dogmatic, fraudulent or sincere, but misguided, religions, that doesn't mean that religion can't also be a devotion to some ideal, moral principle or philosophy that's non-dogmatic, i.e., falsifiable.

You have fallen victim to the theological premise, (that theology is the only possible kind of religion), in the same way that libertarians have fallen victim to the statist premise, (that the state is the only possible form of government).

These premises have empowered both theology and the state for too long. They must die!

“unity in the diversity of the people we enslave"

Damn! Before I can even get off my post about statist political entrepreneurs twisting noble sentiments toward evil ends, the Borg queen herself arrives!

unity of purpose can be put to good or bad ends...

I believe that the saying is meant in the good sense, which is not to say that this sentiment won't be twisted in some way to bring about an evil result, if some statist political entrepreneur can figure out a scheme to do so.

I've had trouble finding liberty books in public libraries. You might find the well-known books like The Road to Serfdom or some Ayn Rand books, but most of the books that I've found are pro-statist. I find the same problem in book stores as well. There might be a few liberty books in there, but the majority of the political/economic books are written by authoritarians.

It must depend on the particular library then. I must say, my neighborhood has a great public library and I've made good use of it over the years. Still...I always vote against their tax budget.

Oh I also once had an order of like $600 of groceries all paid in food stamps, and then this certain family had a second order of like 7 bottles of whine

Somehow this misspelling seems appropriate. Don't correct it.

Ok....here's a coincidence for you.....

The coin, which bears the words “unity in diversity,” was minted in Belgium and presented to the heads of G-8 delegations, Medvedev said

“United in diversity” is the motto of the European Union.

Funnily enough “Diversity is Unity.”  is a quote from the writing's of one George Orwell who called it "doublethink"

It meant the ability “to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory” and “to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies.” For example, a liberal socialist political platform usually involves “liberating” us from our attachments to property, families and nation in the name of “freedom.” When the State chooses for us, however, the result is slavery.

So what does it all mean????

Maybe it simply means unity in the belief in:

1. the tolerance of,

2. appreciation of

3. and admiration for

the many diverse cultures that comprise a cosmopolitan community.

"Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar."-attributed to Sigmund Freud, but real source unknown.

I'm against tax funded libraries too, but let's not exaggerate. Public libraries are chock full of libertarian literature; far more than you could ever find the time to read. I've seen no evidence that their book selections are chosen to promote the state. Of course that's a lot more than I can say about public schools.

Besides being drunk most of the time, Hideaki's first language is Japanese. (This may be racist, but sometimes I wonder if that isn't redundant.) So be easy on him.

OTOH, I hope Hideaki appreciates the free English lessons so generously offered by you! Feel free to correct my mistakes anytime too. I'm sure I make plenty of them and I hate not knowing if I did.

Hideaki...will you sober up already?

I don't think Japanese is his first language, but I might be wrong.  Also...I agree...sober up.

I believe he made implied references to thinking in Japanese as a cause of his unclear language in some thread. It also explains a lot of things that simple inebriation wouldn't.

Oh poppy cock  :|  There are is always a need for sewage treatment, men will never be obsolete.

We build shit we get shit done, we drink beer in large quantities.  Women, especially prenatal women (being women who haven't bore a child yet not pregnant women although they are about 5 times worse literally) are completely fucking insane.  This ain't even open for discussion.

Feminism makes me rage hard.

OK...simmer down there Archie!

Not unless everyone is having their stem cells saved. Which is a procedure that would kill them before they are born.

It's best if you just read the article for yourself. It's not long.

I am a beaner and that was sarcasm

yes I am supposed to know that via the direct-picture and tone of voice duplicators on the internet

It was clearly sarcasm. Are you able to admit to error?

What's up with Logsdon's case?

I read this article today and thought of this thread:

Quote
Children: Father didn't abuse us
Ex-Vancouver police officer spent nearly 20 years in prison

The two adult children of former Vancouver police officer Clyde Ray Spencer, who spent nearly 20 years in prison after being convicted of molesting them, testified in court Friday the abuse never happened.

A 33-year-old son recalled how, at age 9, he was repeatedly questioned, alone, by now-retired Detective Sharon Krause of the Clark County Sheriff's Office. He said after months of questioning, he said he was abused to get Krause to leave him alone.

After a rash of adults being "helped" to recover suppressed memories of abuse, leading to the crackdown of the past couple of decades, it only follows that the new recovered memories will be of coaching by the police and the psychiatrists of disgruntled spouses.

I was going to post the same info. with the very same title, until I read further into the article and realized that this procedure is very far from perfect and pretty much a death sentence for any child conceived by this method. In fact, cloning, itself too hazardous for human reproduction, is still infinitely safer than artificial sperm.

This is a big non-issue, except for Sci-fi stories that are set in the distant future.
