The Polling Pit / Re: An eye for an eye?
« on: July 08, 2008, 05:30:29 PM »
Okay I was going to make a longer reply but you pretty much answered my question.  I was going to say that most people have a line in the sand that they draw on this sort of topic-how bad can the initial act of violence be for retaliation to occur.  Porportionality is also important.  I dont think most people would permanently injure or kill someone over stealing something but if rape occured or if that initial act was murder then they might justify it. I was then going to ask you where your line in the sand is, if you had one.  If you say that killing in self defense is justified then thats fine but "what self defense is" can be a hairy topic in itself.

I dont think I was drunk or even drinking at that time. I just get typing too fast sometimes and fail to go back and re-read what I had just typed.  This time it only turned out to look really bad.

Fatcat-let me continue this even though i totally disagree with your point.  Is an eye for an eye justified under having no government or under anarcho-capitalism?  Ill try and make some points regarding both sides.  Just let me know me know because in our current system the government is doing an atrocious job at bringing perpetrators up on trial, prosecuting, sentencing them, as well as everything else in the current U.S. criminal justice system.

The Transformers soundtrack-the Steve Jablinsky score with the song "Optimus."

Who freed the last American slaves?  Isnt that one of the main reasons FTL and this board exist?  So who freed the last American slaves?  Well it certainly wont be the dumbed downed masses, just a few members of the remnant if it every does happen.  Then again I guess different people would have their own definition of slavery-would it be down to a constitutional goverment?  No government?  Depends who you ask.

Actually it would be more accurate if you put some lkind of combination of the Soviet hammer and sickle with the Itality Fascist Party flag (which I dont know it might be the actual Italian flag.)  It might be also kind of cool to get the eye of Big Brother in there to.

The Polling Pit / Re: Fair Tax
« on: June 20, 2008, 01:53:26 AM »
The fair tax seems better than taxing labor like the income tax does and requires a much smaller bureaucrasy (unlike the current IRS.) I dont think any house or senate will vote on it and it does have the "welfare for all" plan in it.  Overall I like what Steve Kubby said that the fair tax and flat tax are like re-arranging the chairs on the titanic.

Unclear video but nevertheless its a good message

Nevermind I got it but from a different website-

http://www.danielstamate.com/johngalt.html

When I googled a few minutes ago I couldnt find it.  I went back and I believe it was the 2nd or 3rd choice of sites.  By the way, if anyone out there has any friends, family, or corworkers that havent read this book and refuse to-at least play them this clip.  Its awesome.

Well I do believe I recall that at last years PorcFest Ian was saying that he met people that wouldnt even give there real name so I guess this was the wrong place to ask that question.

I know theres a lot of joking on here but this is obviously a very serious problem of the level of tyranny we are at in this country.  Its appauling Americans are at the level of governmental control that a principled liberty-lover like Ian could get arrested for minding his own fucking business and harming no one or there property. Why the fuck is it so hard to get this word out?  I know theres a lot of misinformation and other forms of propaganda but this shouldnt even have to be posted (even though it was a good question).   After reading the boards for about an hour or so I was laughing but not now-not at all.

Well I was going to bring up the objectivist argument and the fact that animals cant reason whereas humans can. Therefore animals can be killed and eaten or experimented on for that matter.

After hearing and reading about the Free State Project I would naturally presume that many of those on the BBS are from NH but it would be interesting to see exactly where everyone (that reads this at least) is from.

Damn that reminds me I got a good steak I need to cook up in the freezer.  If your against killing cows or any other animal then what animal is allowable to kill?  Are ants or other bugs okay or what about any animal that can harm you? What about other more evolutionarily advanced animals?

I suppose if any "libertarian" is for more government control/police state action on the border, doing nothing about the national income tax (he has said that himself in a LP question/answer session,) and staying in Iraq "to stabilize the country" God knows hows long then feel free to vote for this nationalist neocon cheesy used car salesman piece of trash.
