General / FTL booth at Indianapolis, In. tea party
« on: February 21, 2010, 12:08:47 AM »
Would anyone in the Indianapolis, or central Indiana area, that plans on going to the tea party be willing to set up a FTL booth at the statehouse?  I think it would be cool to have a table with an FTL banner and hand out pamphlets about the program and libertarian material.  The table could have the worlds smallest political quiz, information on books, videos, or any other type of material.  I don't want to have anything about any political party including the Repubs or Libertarian Party.  If so let me know.

General / Wesley Snipes on airplane crashing into IRS building
« on: February 19, 2010, 11:59:20 PM »
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100219/ap_on_en_mo/us_people_wesley_snipes_taxes

I saw this article on Drudge and what stood out to me was the first sentence of this.  Wesley Snipes DOES NOT have tax problems-no individual, business, or organization does.  If someone comes to your front door, you open it, they walk in without you saying its okay to enter (obviously most scenarios would involve more violence by the thugs at this point), and they hold a gun to you and tell you to give them whatever they ask-that is their problem.  How is the IRS any different?  Just because most people around you give in and comply with the thugs arbitrary demands does not mean its okay.  It is very clearly that this is thugs problem and not yours (or Snipes in this situation).

The sad part is that he, like most other people, give in.  He stated " These are the bumps and bruises of life. They build character and you learn from it as you move on." I'll certainly admit there are bumps and bruises in life but armed robbery and extortion are not part of those.  Sorry Wes.  The way you build character in this situation is by standing up for yourself and telling the robbers "No, you cannot have what you want-now get the fuck out of my house."

General / Learning Statistics
« on: February 11, 2010, 02:50:25 AM »
I got through undergrad without taking a course in it but Ive been told by several managers at my workplace if I want to go back for another degree or an MBA it is extremely important.  I've thought about taking a local community college course in Stats or just buying an elementary statistics textbook on ebay and learning that way but Im wondering if anyone has any other suggestions. Will a textbook be okay, should I read something else, or take a class?

General / Suggestions for the 4/15 tax day tea party
« on: February 04, 2010, 02:55:15 AM »
I can think of a million things to say to others, kinds of signs to have, and if I get the speech to go off on my own soap box (which random people were given the opportunity last year at the Indianapolis, In. statehouse tea party) but I wondered if anyone had any creative and effective way to protest.

I plan on bringing my sign "Taxation is Slavery" sign and just tell more people to get off there ass and "just say no" to the state by peaceful activism but does anyone else have any other suggestions?

General / The Future of the National Libertarian Party
« on: February 01, 2010, 02:01:50 AM »
I saw this video by a libertarian judge in Arizona and he covers the lack of principle with the national party.  Its very good. He also rightfully denounces wayne allen root canal and his stupid bullshit book. It a long video-an hour and 10 minutes but if you want to watch it here it is-

General / History Channel's "The Revolution"
« on: January 29, 2010, 03:50:18 PM »
I was without the internet for a few days and watched some videos that I had downloaded earlier.  I watched the 14 episode miniseries on the History Channel's "The Revolution" and I would have to say it was absolutely phenomenal.  I thought I knew at least a good deal about the Revolutionary War and the founding fathers but this went in detail about all of the characters and the battles (obviously it covered the most on Washington and Franklin.)  I didnt know much about American officers like Horatio Gates and Nathanael Greene, British officers like John Burgoyne and Henry Clinton and I would say I learned a good deal from it.

I normally delete movies I download after I watch them but Ill be sure to buy some blank DVD's, copy this one, and hand it out-like crazy.   I just say its time to reverse the process of the 13 colonies combining to form a union and secede.   I dont think this time it will take an actual war though.

This is good news! It might not seem like a big deal now but in a few years there might be some serious people, and numbers of people, behind secession.  Like ive called up on the program and talked about with Ian-once one state does it i think it will be domino effect for other states, or regions of the country.

« on: January 14, 2010, 03:31:27 AM »
I dont know if many people on here ever check out the Freedom's Phoenix site but its a great liberty-oriented site for news.  I found this article on here about the "Best of C.E.S." of Popular Science and some of the products they have seem pretty cool.

General / Michelle Malkin is sick!
« on: January 04, 2010, 02:40:29 AM »
I was going over again the top videos on google video and made myself suffer watching Malkin's tirade about "Islamic Jihadists" when she was whining about youtube taking her video off the its site.  First off, if I had a camcorder I would love to do a video rebutting about each one of her absurd, irrational, freedom-hating statements and I encourage anyone with one to rebut her.  It wouldn’t be that hard to rebut her and I’m sure you would get a ton of hits on youtube.  By the way Michelle might want to acknowledge the fact that they are a private business and can do whatever they want to her videos.  Plus I think implying that "we" (DC of course) continue, and Im sure enhance, "our" own "jihad" against a race-Arabs, a certain religion-Muslims, and a catastrophically disastrous foreign policy-might violate any "inappropriate use clause" youtube has. Heres her war/fear/terror mongering diatribe-

If that wasn’t bad enough on her site she has a bumper sticker labeled "I am John Galt."  I'm pretty safe to say that Galt would want to association with her whatsoever.  Plus of course on her site she has a ton of info about the tea-parties but I guess the war on terror and wars in Iraq, Afhanistan, Pakistan and God knows where else are free-right?  At any rate heres her site with the bumper sticker-

If all of that wasn’t enough on my drive home from work tonight I heard the neocon Bill Cunningham talk to that cheesy used-car salesman wanna-be yuppie Wayne Root canal.  WTF? If this douchebag is running for LP VP under Barr why can’t I? He doesn't even sound that informed or educated. I think I would give about anything to see any of the Mises Institute members publically debate Malkin, Root, or any who wants themselves a “libertarian.”

General / New Hampshire property tax
« on: December 28, 2009, 02:14:17 AM »
Ive been telling people about the FSP and Im aware that there is no state income tax but sales and property tax are probably pretty high.  The governor of Indiana and the state legislature this year were talking a lot about property tax caps and they might of even gotten it through.  Does anyone know if theres a property tax cap (a limit of what homeowners, businesses, and other property owners) bill in the NH state legislature or movement going on?

General / Engineering the Impossible
« on: December 20, 2009, 02:12:07 AM »
I was checking out the main videos again on google video and came across a few really cool episodes of the Discovery Channel's "Engineering the Impossible."  Since I dont have cable tv I watched a few programs on my computer.  One was on the world's largest ship called the Freedom ship.  Another was on Dubai development.  The third was on Tokyo Sky City.  Im thinking with the process of dredging, like Dubai's man-made islands, someone, or a company, could build something like Galt's Gulch somewhere on earth.  I don't think the sand or the ocean floor anywhere off the coast of the U.S. could be used but Im not totally sure.  Ive heard of the term "seasteading" but Im not sure if this would be that or not. At any rate heres the videos-
