I think traditional ways of transmitting radio programs will become less important in the future, but they are still very popular now.  Many people would still hear it on traditional analog frequencies.

I am pretty annoyed by what is available on the radio here now.  That is why I had thought about doing this.

How many of us here avoid TV news completely or almost completely?  There are still many who do watch it.

I think we need to start more media that is in competition with the old media. Many of us will have to start small.  The people who do this will gain experience to move into bigger media eventually.  Maybe some could eventually start their own outlets too.

30 feet wouldn't be very difficult after putting it on a house.  Also, it could be a line up a tree, right?

I'm mainly thinking about what will get the FCC to just leave me alone.  I have heard and read that they won't bother a person unless there is a complaint.  Isn't it likely that they would just shut it down at most?

I know there are stations that have existed like this for a long time.  Do any of you know who Scott Horton in Austin Texas is?  I think that is what he does.  I would like to put his show on too.  You can see his site at http://www.thestressblog.com  His is pretty much an interview show.  He has had a lot of people from LewRockwell.com, Antiwar.com, Mises.org on his show.

I remember a caller on FTL talking about doing this once.

I would like to broadcast FTL in my area along with other shows.  I would like to have software set up to transfer from feed to feed at specific times.  I would probably have mp3s qued up to fill the dead air time.  I, of course, would also need a transmitter.

Do any of you have any suggestions on doing something like this?  What would be a good transmitter to get?  What about avoiding the Feds?  I have heard that crossing state lines with a broadcast is more serious.  Is this so?  I am less than a mile from the Illinois state line in NW Indiana.
