General / Re: What the Hell is going on in here?
« on: July 10, 2012, 02:41:56 PM »... if people don't like Ian's activism but do like mine (getting elected as a State Delegate, completing the 1st 1K, setting up the best recruitment program for the FSP yet, ect) why would they pull their AMPs? That doesn't make sense. It is a 2-person show and we do different stuff. If one dislikes what one host does, one shouldn't punish the other host.
Mark, you're such a statist - practically a community organizer.
Ian is louder about his activism. He also tends to be involved in things which push buttons, whether for good or bad.
The person working the slow and steady route goes unnoticed. Even though there are probably former AMPers who support what you're doing, there is no way to send AMP money to support you and your activism without also supporting Ian and his.

Did it remind you of Star Wars?
My 11 & 12 year olds were drawing comparisons non-stop.

Was great to meet your lovely family - hope to see you all next year... with iced coffee, I hope.

Wicked Iced Coffee. They had the perfect coffee/milk/ice ratio - no having to suffer through 1/2 cup of watery drink.
It was GA/FL hot in NH all week, so I had a few.

« on: June 29, 2012, 08:04:51 AM »Mr Quartermass sir, just log in and correct the spelling via "edit" then erase the two responses. The thread starter can do that. Everybody seems to want to bust your balls and why take it when you can change the past.
Type, spell check, preview, edit, hit spell check, preview, post. Read thread, reedit as necessary.
Not trying to 'bust his balls' - making asuggestion before it was posted over on the Jobs in NH board on FSP. (Thanks for posting link, Denis.)
Quartermass - do edit your post and delete the negative responses, since you're putting this out there on your job search.
If you have trouble deleting the posts, send me a PM. I'll pull them.

It wasn't me, Fred, but I can understand why it was done.
Sometimes, you manage to post the perfect musical accompaniment for the discussion.
Sometimes.
Unless your video posts directly relate to the topic, they tend to be more annoying than amusing.

« on: June 28, 2012, 03:35:11 PM »Looking into moving into your fine shire, my proffesion before they closed it here in WV was substitute history social studies and foreign language teacher I put this out to all which would be the best counties to apply to I do not have a teachers certification just a Ba in history and working on my Ma in Ancient and Classical civilizations. I do hope someone can get back to me on this If not in the shire I have been offered work in Japan teaching their but would prefer to stay in America for now.
You will probably find better answers to this question over on the boards at the Free State Project website.
Should be easier to find contacts with information about employment in specific towns.
You might also find better answers if you read over your text and edit it before you post.
Hard to take a teacher seriously when the first reaction you have is to reach for a red pencil.
(Second thought was to yell "They're going there with their friends.")

And now ends the dreaded long drive home for this person. That was a long damn 19 hours, even split over 2 days.

Having a lovely, BUSY time at porcfest so far. Met several online bbs-ers, including Shaw & Mel in person; my family members are having a great time popping in to see some of the nightly movies. If I can stay awake past midnight, I hope to catch one of the late shows. Bought delicious baklava & hot coffee from mandrik & bonerjoe. Great music, lots to do, lovely and interesting people. If you're not here...

The Polling Pit / Re: Bigger Gayer Dance Party at Porcfest 2012
« on: June 15, 2012, 05:03:06 PM »That's too bad. I think the costume woulda been awesome for this party. You might even win a drag prize even if you're not cross-gender. At least, as one of the judges myself, I would not make cross-gender a reqt of the contest.
I'll try to make sure I have enough room to bring it. If I can't make it over to the party for an hour, I can always loan it to somebody of similar size. Shame for all that deep blue and bright yellow ruffles to sit in my closet gathering dust.

Dammit! Just checked the schedule. I thought it was a little later in the evening. I'll be off making rice krispy treats with the kids from 4-5. Guess I'll pack a vintage sundress and apron and my normal mommicky self.
