Lookit, people DO "rate" the ladies here...the MOST visited thread in the "shrine" topics is....(drumroll)

FAVORITE SHRINER. Hands down. And somebody posted a POLL right on top.

Oink oink.

"How would I know which one is my favorite? I don't know what their views are...oh...I guess I'm just supposed to rate their physical appearance."

OINK.

If I were an advertiser, I'd take one look at the Shrine and think..."Hm. Look...all of 30 or 40 female listeners...some covering their tits. Eh. Weelll, I don't think my product will work here."

Please.

The Shrine needs to go if FTL is going to get anywhere as big as Rush and Neil. They don't have shrines. They have female listeners. It's dumb to think that if the Shrine wasn't on the web site that no one would think women listen. OF COURSE they do.

Did any of you graduate from Collidge...er, college? Your business model is flawed if you think half-naked women will appeal to advertisers that buy ads on a political talk show, let alone give your political movement any credibility.

The Shrine itself is self-defeating because it only shows the women that send a photo in, not the thousands that listen to FTL. Who's to say that an advertiser wouldn't think, "Gee, I thought you had more female listeners than this...but if this is it, and hey...some of them are showing tittie, well, I guess they probably don't think too hard about buying stuff, let alone politics."

It doesn't prove anything regarding female demographics for the show. Nothing. It's Ian's little homage to Phil Hendrie, who I love, and who had a really funny show. But this is politics, not prank phone calls.

Perhaps when you all are much older, say 27 or 28, you'll feel differently about this.

How old are you, again?

FTL has a website with women's pictures, that you then rate and/or discuss ad naseum here on the BBS. This isn't HotRock 99 FM. This isn't the Keene HS Libertarian Club. This is a great show with great potential. But the Shrine will hold it back.

It's immature, it serves no purpose but to tittilate the men and to convey some sense of acceptance for the women who actually submit their picture, meaning she has low self-esteem anyway, and it just perpetuates the low self-esteem. I would rather be judged by my ideas, not my freakin' picture.

Clearly, FTL is a great show, but the cheesy Shrine has got to go. It makes it hard to take anything seriously that is discussed on FTL or the BBS.

Not that all you kids are taking this seriously, anyway.

Why make women listeners any more special than other listeners? It's dumb and sexist. I thought FTL was into serious matters and issues, not this high school BS.

Starting my own shrine..."The Shrine of Blue-Eyed Listeners." Yep. Blue-eyed listeners are so much more interesting and deserve special recognition for having blue eyes. Will have the web site up, and soon. Or post your blue-eyed listener pic here.

See how ridiculous the "Shrine of Female Listeners" is when you place it in the context of my shrine idea? It's subjugating a group of listeners by some characteristic that they have no control over....they are born female. It's like having a shrine of Asian listeners, or gay listeners...

Women aren't any more or any less important than any other listener. Start treating them that way.

LPFM is something we've been looking at, as well as LPAM...yeah, let's get radical--subversive--out there...freedom is a state of mind, not necessarily something found in an actual state. So why not just share that idea wherever you go, in whatever place you're in?

How 'bout Mrs. Brady's shag hair-do? It's really appealling, especially that little flip thing she's got going on...

I can really only discuss 1970s hair styles.
