Ah well. One less thing to do. Wikis are more meaningful when lots of people contribute, a la Wikipedia.

Sounds very Invader Zim-esque.
I would rather they played the Doom song instead of this commercial :)

The Show / Re: Wasn't that Alex Jones calling in to May 23rd show?
« on: June 04, 2009, 03:05:10 PM »
It was Alex Jones.  I was listening online and after they cut for commercial the board op/call screener messed up and put the line  between him and Ian live.   He said, "I have Alex Jones on the line with a comment about WWII.  He wants to be ananimous, do you want to take it?"

When they came back, he was announced as "Alex in Tennesee driving along and listening."

Before AJ hung up, he plugged a radio station "down here in Austin".

Why the annonimity and the deception? :(

He was announced as "Alex in Texas", actually.  No deception there.

"you loved me once."
"baby, you got real ugly."

Hahaha, that's an awesome one-liner, rabidfurby.  So true.

I love the show, but probably wouldn't as much if it didn't make me throw my hands in the air* now and then.

The Show / Law of Attraction
« on: March 25, 2008, 01:21:45 AM »
Wow. I find great irony that Ian - a skeptic and atheist - subscribes to this religious belief.

Never mind that it's not testable, or able to be falsified, we have some great anecdotes!

I have no problem with the concepts of thinking positively and making choices to move towards what you want, but on the 3/21 show I really think you guys went overboard with the Law of Attraction stuff.  Give an anecdote here and there, then when the Jews get mentioned, "well, they must not have wanted it enough." (that's a basic summary, not an actual quote)

WTF?

Sounds good, rabidfurby.

For now I think I'll remove the 2005 column from the Main Page and just leave 2006 and 2007 on there if that's alright.  When we have the 2005 torrent we can work on an archives page that will include all torrent links.

I have hair and a face too, (*points to avatar*), so maybe I'll pester Ian too :)

Are all archives still being seeded?  I don't have a torrent app on this computer to check, but I was just wondering as I'm working on the show archive categories on the wiki.

Would a torrent for all of the 2005 shows take too long to download?

You have probably already seen this, but I think it bears reposting because of how awesome it is:

I like the way he calmly and logically engages the socialists who call in, actually.  I think he does a far better job than Ian with stuff like that.  Ian gets too emotional, IMO.

He's said on his radio show at least once they're doing the Wal-Mart one, so I think that's pretty definite.  I'm looking forward to that one.

Here's an interesting blog post from Christopher Soghoian.  He asked an assistant US Attorney (who focused on cyber crime) what he thought about Tor, and he had not heard about it.  Another US attorney apparently lectured him on the evils of the technology and said IU should have nothing to do with such technology.

His blog is pretty cool if you're interested in online privacy as well as "security".  He is the grad student who got raided by the FBI for putting an airline boarding pass generator online, demonstrating how poor our "security" really is.  He frequently flies without showing ID and writes about his experience.

I voted.

I'm not huge into podcasting or anything, but I think BusinessWeek should diversify polls like this a bit.  Doesn't seem right to put up a video podcast up against an audio podcast... just different beasts.  *shrug*
