General / Help turn THOUSANDS of NH High-schoolers on to Free Talk Live!
« on: May 25, 2009, 03:08:03 PM »
With help from Ian and a cabal of Free-Staters, I am proud to announce "Project FTL 4 HS"
The goal is to turn thousands of New Hampshire high-school age kids on to Free Talk Live, and the message of liberty.
We are doing this with extreme guerrilla marketing, NH-based volunteers... and hopefully, a little help from you.
Click below for the full story... and if you love the ideas presented on FTL, chip in to help make it possible!

General / Gold and Silver: watching the USD go tits-up
« on: April 23, 2009, 10:16:44 PM »
Gold spot price over $900, silver flirting with $13
Today's headlines:
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601081&sid=aD3IX705Vy1Q
I am sure this is just a temporary thing, gold will be back down to $820 or so in the next few weeks. But still.... it's a clear indication, the markets are jittery.

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Gold rose Thursday above $900 for the first time in nearly three weeks after data showed a big increase in claims for U.S. unemployment benefits, raising economic worries and increasing the precious metal's value as a safe asset.

Free Radio Forum / "Ham" license?
« on: January 13, 2009, 12:38:12 PM »
I got my Novice Class license when I was a kid and haven't used any ham radio equipment for 20+ years.
But I got to thinking... assuming I wish to remain legal and (probably) not harassed by the "authorities", would holding a license help at all?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amateur_radio_licensing_in_the_United_States
Suppose I got an "Amateur Extra Class" license. Is there any AM or FM band on which I would then be legally allowed to transmit?

Free Radio Forum / Step-by-step for the clueless (Part 15)
« on: December 29, 2008, 07:53:33 PM »
I may well set up a transmitter or two if I had a nice, simple, step-by-step cookbook to follow.
To that end, I request a set of instructions.
Assume I have about zero time, but do have some extra money to invest in this. Give me a list of specific things to buy -- preferably with direct links to where I can buy them. Make it as no-hassle, "plug-and-play" as possible.
Assume I have no intention of paying a fine or going to jail over this -- I want a strictly legal "Part 15" thingy.
If you can provide a few alternate cookbooks, for different amounts of capital outlay, that would be ideal. Presumably doing it "on the cheap" involves more time investment & fiddling around, which may be appealing to lots of people looking to pick up a hobby. As for me -- my barrier to entry is time. Lower that barrier and I am more likely to jump in.
Thanks!

General / Ongoing: FTL outreach at the Verizon Arena, Manchester, NH
« on: July 15, 2008, 10:56:12 AM »
OBJECTIVE: More liberty activists in New Hampshire
OBSERVATION 1: Tens of thousands of people, mainly NH residents, congregate at the Verizon Wireless Arena in downtown Manchester, NH, at least a few times per month
OBSERVATION 2: Free Talk Live is highly effective at "converting" conservatives and liberals alike into libertarians and free-marketeers; people call the show on a frequent basis and testify that they have been "woken up" by what they heard.
OBSERVATION 3: The Verizon Arena is just 2 blocks from Murphy's Taproom, and a short walk from Porc Central.
ACTION!
Pass out Free Talk Live flyers to Verizon Area venue-goers on a regular, ongoing basis!
I have placed a box of FTL Flyers at the entryway of Porc Manor. Two of the resident Porcs, "Error" and "Andy H.", have volunteered to help pass out the flyers when there are events, and to notify other Porcs of the opportunity. In return, I will ensure that the box is re-filled with flyers on a regular basis.
Easy and fun for local Porcs... and gets the message of Liberty out to many hundreds of NH residents.
Any time you're in the Manchester area, check with the local Free-Staters and volunteer to help out. It's fun, easy, free, and effective!

General / RUSH tickets: Friday, July 11th, Manchester NH
« on: July 06, 2008, 01:23:53 PM »
Two tickets for RUSH, at the Verizon Arena in Manchester on Friday, July 11th.
Floor seating row LL section 1, seats 5 & 6
Verizon seating starts with row "AA"; ie, these tickets are just 12 rows away from the stage!
TERMS
I'm asking face value for them, $86.00 each, or best offer. This is less than I paid for them, and they are going for at least 2x that price on EBay.
The catch is, you need to agree to pass out Free Talk Live flyers (which I will provide) both before and after the event.
I will be passing out flyers as well, but due to various circumstances, I can't do nearly as much flyering as I'd like.
If no pro-liberty people step up to the plate by noon Tuesday, July 8th, I'll auction them on EBay, which I really don't want to have to do, because I want those flyers to get into peoples' hands.
Of course, anyone who just wants to help out flyering and doesn't want concert tickets, also email me -- I'm happy to have more people flyering!
