« on: November 28, 2010, 04:39:41 PM »
I got into a car crash a few years ago that resulted in a funny situation.

I was driving down a road near a mall and going straight towards a green light about 100 feet away. Right before I passed a car on the left that was waiting to turn into the mall I saw the driver waving someone ahead.

I hit the brakes but I was too late. The lady he waved on pulled right out in front of me and I T-boned her. Luckily no one was hurt. We exchanged information and the lady kept saying, "You hit me, right?" I agreed that I had hit her and she seemed satisfied. I didn't bother to explain to her that the accident was her fault because she had pulled out if front of me.

I was going to pick up my kids so it took a while before I could get home and call her insurance company to arrange for them to get my car fixed. When I got the agent on the phone he was exasperated. He said after she described the accident he had spent the last hour trying to explain to the lady that the accident was her fault.

I thought it was pretty funny and the insurance company took care of all the damages and a rental so I wasn't too upset about the whole thing.

I am a midget professional strongman. I tear matchbooks in half, bend paper clips, and lift two pugs over my head at THE SAME TIME!

This is my assistant:

General / iPhone users have more sex partners
« on: August 16, 2010, 05:41:39 PM »
http://www.asylum.com/2010/08/11/okcupid-oktrends-iphone-users-have-more-sex-partners/

The article:
Men and women who own iPhones have had more sexual partners than those who carry other leading smart phones.

Using information gleaned from 10,000 of its members, the dating website OKCupid found that a 30-year-old woman who owns an iPhone has had an average of 12.3 sexual partners, whereas her BlackBerry-using counterpart has had 8.8. Meanwhile, a 30-year-old lady with an Android has only experienced pleasure at the hands of 6.1 people.

With the fellas, 30-year-old iPhone users have an average of 10 sexual partners, 8.1 if he has a BlackBerry, and six if he's an Android guy.

So when the iPhone 5 comes out next year, it might be good policy to camp out in front of your local Apple store and hit on any woman you see in line.

« on: June 22, 2010, 05:11:14 PM »
One thing to remember about backing up a big straight truck is that there is a good distance from the rear axle to the back of the truck so be careful about backing up an incline. My driveway is a little steep and several delivery trucks have got stuck on it or gouged the driveway trying to back up it.

I have used Priceline a lot and I have been happy with the results. Usually I can get a room for half or a little more than half price by using the name your own price option.

It is the same deal, you don't know what hotel you are going to get just the area and the number of stars. The rooms have always been good. Once I got a room in RTP NC for $25 that had two beds, a couch, 2 TVs and a little kitchen. Recently I got a room for a week in Herdon, VA for $50 a night where the list price is over $100 so it has worked out well for me. This was a room with a king size bed, couch, and a desk and chair with about a 45" flat screen that rotated so you could watch from the couch or the bed and it was a Hyatt so it was pretty nice all the way around.

General / Re: Average Person Cheats Death 5 Times
« on: May 10, 2010, 05:32:29 PM »
This is an interesting topic. I tried to think of some times when I may have cheated death and wrote a description below. Sorry if it is too long but maybe you will find some of it entertaining. :-)

Almost hit by lightning – when I was 12 my dad sent me out in a storm to clear the drainage ditch down by the end of the driveway. He came out 10 minutes later and told me to get in the house because the lightning was too close. As we were walking back to the house we both felt all of the hair on our bodies stand up. We tried to run but the lightning hit a tree about 15 feet from us. The concussion knocked us down. We were totally unharmed but scared shitless. The tree went down.

Don’t know if this counts: I walked outside once when my brothers were throwing rocks for distance and walked right under a golf-ball sized rock that hit the top of my head and knocked me out.

When I was 18 I crashed and totaled a car that went spinning into a guard rail right by a bridge. The guard rail held and I wasn’t really hurt much, but looking down where I could have gone was scary.

Got hit by a careless lady when I was riding my bicycle (no helmet on) and she merged into a road and didn’t see me. I ended up on her hood, rolled off and she sped away crushing my bike. Not hurt, but I guess I could have been run over.

I got jumped by 5 guys when I was waiting for a bus. They beat me up pretty good, but a cop saw them kicking me on the ground and they all got arrested. Two of them were brothers who golden gloves boxers and car thieves and they ended up going to jail for a while. If the cop didn't happen by who knows what would have happened.

I was swimming in a creek at camp when a camp counselor pulled me out of the water and told all of the other kids to get out of the water. There was a poisonous water moccasin snake swimming behind me about 5 feet away.

I was out with some friends biking and we found a little pond and started jumping in. The water was about 8 feet deep. One of my friends did not realize how deep it was and jumped in but he couldn’t swim. I was laughing and swam to him and he grabbed me and pushed me under. He was clamped on my so strong I couldn’t get him off. I thought I was going to drown, but he pushed me to the bottom and I was able to use my legs and jump up and push him off and haul him to shore. I asked a life guard about it later and he said that happens a lot and they train life guards to approach the person from the rear and clamp on them so the life guard doesn’t get pushed under.
Years later I was swimming with some adults and a friend of mine got tired in the middle of the lake we were at. I swam out to him and told him to lie still; every time I got near him though he would try to grab me. I was scared because this was a guy I lifted weights with and I knew he was stronger than me. I dove down deep and swam up behind him and put him in a head lock. He kept thrashing and trying to grab me. I told him to quit it or I would let him drown and he finally relaxed and I could swim him to shore. I think if it wasn’t for the first experience years before I would have drowned that day.
