Got my liberty cards yesterday and already started giving them out. I try to leave a mark where ever I go, whether it's FTL flyers or liberaty cards. One place they work great is in the credit card swiper slot at self-serve gas pumps - leave one sticking out of the slot for the next person. :)

Thanks for putting this together Corey. Often when I'm out and about I'll pick out certain people in the crowd who I sense could possibly be libertarian leaning and wish I had something to hand them. Your card sounds like a great idea. I'll be sending you my address.

The Polling Pit / Re: What is your Myers-Briggs personality type?
« on: May 08, 2007, 09:47:24 PM »
The pattern from the small sample in the poll so far seems to be that most respondants are N's - Intuitive as opposed to Sensory.

From Wikipedia:
"Sensing and Intuition are the perceiving functions. Jung called them the irrational functions (as a technical term, not as a pejorative), as a person does not necessarily have control over receiving data, but only how to process it once they have it. Sensing people tend to focus on the present and on concrete information gained from their senses. Sensing prefers to receive data primarily from the five senses. Intuitives tend to focus on the future, with a view toward patterns and possibilities. These people prefer to receive data from the subconscious, or seeing relationships via insights."

Maybe the FSP should focus their advertising on audiences and professions that favor this trait. Just a thought.

General / Broadcast FTL url into your neighbor's homes
« on: April 27, 2007, 09:48:57 PM »
I renamed my wireless router's SSID to freetalklive.com. Now when my neighbors view wireless networks in their area they'll see freetalklive.com in their list. (I have mine secured of course.) It's not my idea. I remember a caller suggesting it a few months back.

It got me wondering, could a fake SSID be broadcast (freetalklive.com) over a long range using a high-powered antennae? I know software does exist that allows for broadcasting fake SSIDs. With a longer range, more people would see it in their list and it would be difficult to prove that someone was breaking any FCC regulations. If a person sees "freetalklive.com" while using their computer, they're more likely to be curious and go to the url.

If anyone has ideas on how to do this please post.

Inkjet works well if you iron the money first. Go to the bank and get a stack of singles and keep a few in your wallet. Here's an earlier thread about it.

Thanks for the detailed reply, JSkywave. Someone on the forum pointed me to http://www.amazing1.com. It's a NH based company that sells lasers up to 100mw. I don't think I'll be shelling out the money for one any time soon, but it's interesting technology.

Laser graffiti is harmless and fun. I think it would be a very effective tool to promote liberty. Just don't do it Boston or they may shut down the city. If anyone has info on how to obtain the hardware please post.
