CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. -- New York State Police have released the name of the driver killed Sunday in the two car crash that also claimed the life of Chemung County Sheriff's Deputy Jeffrey Alexander.

Albert Paganelli, 77, of the Town of Ashland, was pronounced dead on the scene after being hit head on by Deputy Alexander's patrol car.

The accident occurred on State Route 427 in the Town of Ashland.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Deputy Alexander veered into oncoming traffic and struck Paganelli's car.

Alexander was taken to Arnot Ogden Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

What about DURING a drug raid? The cops are clearly one hundred percent in the wrong there. Obviously, the drug dealers are absolutely justified in gunning down the intruders in their homes.

I don't think handing out tickets and breaking up domestic disputes is worthy of a death sentence by vigilante. You have no standard by which to judge this man's action's other than a uniform. An eye for an eye would make the whole world blind. I think Shaw's ad hom sticks in this case.

PMFJI, but this will also explain what "legal tender" means. It is not an adjective as some people think.

The deal is, you will pay for the meal. However, the law cannot require you to pay for the meal. If the law required that, then you would be breaking the law, guilty of a misdemeanor, if you presented FRN's and the owner refused them.

To "tender" something means pretty much, to present it and attempt to deliver it.

If the law only required you to "offer" to pay, you could eat free, simply by walking out after "offering" to pay an owner who wants the FRN's. Technically, you "offered" to pay, and when the offer was accepted, you walked out without paying.

FRN's are "legal tender" because if you "tender" them, you legally "tender" payment of that amount. (Actually, Ron Paul is quick to point out that Congress has no Constitutional authority to make anything legal tender.)

They don't just hand out tickets and break up domestic disputes. They are in the business of intimidating the citizens into complying with blatantly unjust laws.

At the Battle of Bunker Hill, there weren't "good" and "bad" Redcoats, only enemy Redcoats. Killing a thousand of them wasn't excessive, because they still took Breed's Hill. Likewise, taking out one enemy officer in San Antonio was not excessive, because cops still enforce unjust laws.

That's why I advocate not catching the license plate number if you see something like that happen.

Victims of police brutality, perjury, enforcement of unjust laws and unreasonable searches and seizures can take comfort that this does happen, cops do get brought to justice.

Taking comfort is not violent. Again, there was no call for violence.

Sweet Justice? Guy was just sitting there at a traffic light and some criminal does a cowardly drive by. How can this be construed as self defense?

Quite possibly it was somebody victimized by the government's decision to impose a high rate of unemployment. Some people think the politicians should steal more money to “help” the unemployed. Cops enforce zoning restrictions that prevent jobs creation, outrageous business licensing laws that prevent jobs creation, and taxes that rob the economy for the politicians' vote-buying sprees. The politicians don't commit the unprovoked violence, the cops do. The man cannot feed his family and his wife leaves him, then his buddy is about to throw him out because he cannot pay rent, meanwhile he keeps going to the day labor hall and waiting, and waiting, and waiting.

I'm glad he didn't kill the staff at a temp agency that failed to get him a job, or random people who “elected” bad politicians. There is an illusion out there that “We the People” impose these laws and some believers punish “We the People” through senseless violence against innocent, random people.
