NHAT might be completely nuts.  I don't know...I never met him.

But whether he advocates MURDER is a completely different issue.

John, since you have still failed to produce any evidence of NHAT suggesting the use of non-defensive force, I'd ask that you stick with the "bat-shit insane" name calling.  He doesn't advocate murder.

Suggesting that the world would be a better place if people sacked up and defended themselves from violent people is not insane.

BTW, I know people who talk like morons on the internet but are perfectly stable and intelligent people.  I can't say whether this fits Rob or not (although he seems perfectly sane in the video you posted..I'd be nervous as hell talking to the feds).

As that thread has been removed, I still have yet to see an example of Rob advocating anything but defending oneself from aggression.

insane nutjobs like himself.

I'm still waiting for an example of the insanity, rather than yet another just claiming it.

What is insane about advocating the right to defend oneself from aggression?

None of the above.

Do what you want man.  If you have things more important to do than butt heads with a bunch of bureaucratic jackasses, then don't waste your time.

There is no shame at all in doing what violent people tell you to do.

Well, technically I don't, but I did purchase his audiobooks (about $60) which I viewed as a donation (since it was just a download).  So view that however you'd like (donation or not, whichever you prefer to make your point).

The reason I did is because I have listened to...oh....about 100 of his podcasts over the last couple years and felt I should pay him for that.  As I said, I felt like I get value out of almost each one I listen to (there are of course podcasts where he merely rehashes ideas I have already had, or when he has positions that I disagree with, particularly on IP)

But I donate $50 a month to FTL...because I think is going to do more for the cause of liberty than FDR, since it is more "mainstream" and entertaining than FDR.

So then you agree that it is completely reasonable to choose not to spend time with a person who thinks your worldview is evil?  Or that thinks you should be thrown in prison?

I asked earlier and I got no response:

What is "cult-like" about FDR?  Or about me?

So did you want to point out what is unreasonable about choosing not to spend time with a person who thinks your worldview is evil?  Or that thinks you should be thrown in prison?  Or were you just going to set up more strawmen?

Why does it bother you so much that I don't associate with my mom?  You seem to be taking it personally.  I'm spending my time in a way that will produce maximum happiness for me and the people I care about.  Why does that upset you so much?

No, I compared myself with the black person who decides that someone's racist attitude is a justification for not spending time with that person.

Is there anything unreasonable about that?

Of course, if my mom thinks that my views are abominable, then she is more than justified in dissociating from me too.

I mean that the idea that you have differing opinions on, say, politics should not be a factor in a relationship with someone.

Oh, I see.

So for example, a gay person shouldn't decide to not be friends with someone just because that person thinks that gays are an abomination against God?

A black person, I suppose, shouldn't decide not to be friends with someone who thinks that slavery should be re-instituted against black people.  That too is nothing more than a difference of opinion.

Don't other words mean exactly the same thing as those words?  Isn't there more than one way to get that exact same message across?

Then I am definitely tolerant.

That's a good way to put it.

I tolerate people who don't want to hurt me.

Half of the people on this BBS would slay their parents if it involved a private organization instead of the State, simply because it would be a private organization.

That's an interesting made up statistic.
