Has anyone purchased this course?  I've thought about getting if now and then, and if I ever got into any kind of legal trouble I would have liked to already have learned the stuff.  Just wanted to get people's feedback as to how accessible and how useful it is.

The Show / 7-7-11 Show Problem
« on: July 09, 2011, 04:19:09 PM »
I download the 7-7-11 amp show and it was only 30 minutes long.  I clicked to the link to the show on the front page and it went to the 7-8-11 show.

A phrase said only in hushed tones in the dark corners of the world...

Ok, so conspiracy folks are all up in arms about the "New World Order", and they have these videos of these important people saying the phrase "New World Order" to confirm that their conspiracy theories are correct.

Is it just me, or does the phrase "New World Order" not really sound that sinister when you hear GHWB say it.  To me, it just sounds like a synonym of "The major powers in the world are changing"  For example, there was a new world order after the Napoleonic Wars.  After Westphalia.  After the fall of the roman empire.  After WWII.  And so on.  So it sounds to me like they are saying that the power in the world is going to be redistributed/change hands like it has many many times in the past.  Nothing too shocking.

Am I missing something?

Someone should make some.  I always wish I had something to give to people when I talk about liberty issues or FTL in particular.

I'd buy a bunch if someone made them.

General / Libertarian "Protest" at UCSD's Library Walk
« on: October 09, 2006, 04:06:42 PM »
Well, it wasn't so much a protest as it was just me, holding up a sign that said,

"Wouldn't you rather be too young to fight and old enough to drink?"

Other side said

"Have you read the Constitution lately?"

and handing out these very nice 8 page libertarian newsletters that a local libertarian paid for (and the local libertarian party pitched in for).

I was there for a couple of hours (and plan on doing so again every morning this week) and handed out quite a few.  I met a few libertarians who were very happy to see me, a socialist from Italy who believes that the problem is the US is not electing the right people, and a Republican who thinks history will honor Bush as the greatest president in history.

I just printed up those FTL flyers and will be inserting them in the newspapers for the rest of the wee (forgot to do it today...ooops).

Get out there and do something guys.  Even at a university, you would be suprised how many people have never heard of libertarianism.

Remember, you don't need a group to be an activist.

General / NEED HELP!
« on: September 09, 2006, 10:35:40 AM »
A person I talk with on an internet forum, who is a hardcore conservative, but who recently has indicated some interest in learning more about libertarian and free marketeer ideas, replied when I asked him if I could send him "Why government Doesn't Work", said he would rather that I emailed him something.

So what should I email this person.  I always second guess myself when it comes to these sort of "you get one shot to convince me, but I'll be open-minded".  What do you guys think?

General / Liberty Dollar Question
« on: September 06, 2006, 11:28:36 AM »
Ok, so I am interested in liberty dollars and was browsing the website.

I have a question though.  A $20 bill (which costs $20) is only worth one ounce of silver?  I understand that exchange rates vary, but am I going to have to explain to everyone I try to give this too that it is really only worth...what...$13 or so in silver?

I am a bit confused.
