Lew Rockwell probably lives in abundance and can afford to wear a new pair of undies every day. But he revels in his ability to re-wear the same pair of underwear, which indicates his habitual and deviant interest to command his subjects to purify his shorts!!! Rabble Rabble Rhubarb!

You sound like you would love some "subjects", too.

So you're a troll then?

There is no actual difference in these political systems.

You're not listening. Libertarianism does not possess the values or conditions necessary to make it a political system.

It always comes down to the master and slave relationship.

In what context? Who is judging? People working together can both benefit. Their perceptions are what matters when they judge the value of the interaction and do not require your attempts to distinguish one as having the upper hand; one being a master over the other. Our ability to make value judgments is finite and conditional to our perception of existence. There's a distance in the fabric of reality between our ordinal value judgments.

So long as yer on top...everything is OK, right?

Those pitiful creatures scrubbing yer underwear, while you attend the opera........They should be grateful!!!! They get to eat....so that they can scrub yer underwear some more.

That's Libertarianism.

Project much? You do realize I was reacting to your absurd response with sarcasm, right?

I have been listening for years, and all I hear is how a bunch of yuppies and elitists want somebody to wash their dirty underwear for them.

These concepts of "freedom" and "liberty" must involve some poor sucker washing yer dirty shorts. Maybe FREEDOM FOR YOU!

What a joke. Do you think you would consider yerself to be "free" while scrubbing away at Lew Rockwell's shitty underpants?????

What is this talk about "freedom" and "liberty"???????? Give me a break!

The libertarian desire to enslave.....is no different than any other way.

You're personifying libertarianism. What values can you speak to if all is slavery? As Devo says: Freedom of choice is what you got. Freedom from choice is what you want. Good luck discovering your utopia, princess.

So, can I sell my old lego on your site, and get silver in return?

The site is a store front where we sell the lego. PM or Email is the best for discussing purchasing your collection. Yes, we can probably arrange to purchase your collection for silver (my brother will need to make that determination).

Surely, all political systems are designed to exploit....including Libertarianism and Anarchy.

Libertarianism (the ideology) is not a political system. It does not provide a specific solution or form of government/governance. It stresses individualism and the non-aggression principle.

People can feel exploited, whether or not they recognize a particular system as the cause, but we as rational beings (or those of us who consider ourselves rational), do not shout curses at storms and disasters for 'exploiting us'.

Some people who claim exploitation or accept the title of victim are looking for someone or something to blame.

I will no longer promote libertarianism to other people that I come across. It's not because I don't care about people (which I don't), but it's because it's just bullshit...like pretty much everything else.

In this case, I must stress that the perfect is not the enemy of the good. It is not beneficial to expect absolute truth, nor is there any lasting comfort in its opposite: Nihilism. What I would suggest is that you try not to stress out too much about this and consider that we experience this life from a limited perspective, and while we may see the world as imperfect, it's certainly not something that has to mean we will always be unhappy.

It's just a given, but if we believe we are volitional beings that can make a difference outside of the mindlessness of collectivism, then we can start to build meaningful relationships and take substantive steps towards a world we want to be a part of. The realm of value is the realm of the individual, and in this perspective of the universe it is not the absolutes we should relish, but the _informative_ truth.

I've added the Plasmatics as a Libertarian connected artist at Last.fm. I believe they meet the threshold for 'libertarian' based on their song subject matter and their speech. Feel free to bug me here or at last.fm with items you think should be included. Thanks!

So basically, considering the veil of ignorance is unnecessary because everyone already engages in these discussions with the proper abstractions (perhaps excepting some aspiring rulers).  Anarchists would choose stateless societies, minarchists would choose minarchist societies, socialists would choose socialist societies, theocrats would choose theocratic societies, and so on ad infinitum.

Those choices reflect the precepts these individuals hold. Statists put a distance between themselves and a viable, voluntary solution by confusing intent with necessity and ignoring what has already been proven empirically. The fatal flaw takes on a strong element of self deception when peers reinforce this belief in the same unproven nonsense.

The Show / Last.FM FTL News
« on: December 31, 2009, 08:44:34 AM »
Hey everyone! I was recently appointed the position of Leader of the Libertarians group on the Last.fm website.

Last.fm groups utilizes a feature called 'Connections', which allows me to associate liberty related musicians or podcasts with the group itself. I have just added the Free Talk Live show to the group connections list, and will be adding more connections soon.

If you have any suggestions for artists which aren't already listed, let me know. If you think any of the connected artists should not be listed, I'd also appreciate hearing from you about who, and why they should not.

If you like music and liberty, I welcome you to join Last.fm and join the group!!!

Thanks for your time!

General / Re: JOIN THE FCC. DO IT NAO.
« on: November 24, 2009, 01:30:16 AM »
The FCC is approxmately 4 years old at this point, and we continue to grow and appreciate the interest of new players.

Please join up. The time requirements are very minimal. You can leave your nation unattended for at least 15 days and get back to it, though more attention helps with growth. More active members rise through the ranks and help with policy.

While the mechanics of the game are fairly straightforward, much of the action happens through socialization with other players via forums. In this way, we are free to develop our nations in a strong tradition of agorism.

General / Re: Is a free-economy perfect?
« on: October 01, 2009, 07:39:18 PM »
I should have been more specific. I wasn't referring to markets in general (ie. the voluntary exchange of anything between individuals), but free market capitalism (markets of exchange on a monetary basis).

I agree that nothing is perfect. But I get the impression that some people hold free market capitalism high and mighty on some kind of pedestal of perfection, flawless, and impervious to criticism. I'm speaking specifically of capitalism, not freedom generally.

I think there will still be the ability of people/businesses/corporations to acquire power and be nearly as adverse and coercive as they were with government, but without it. That's why I believe that it's imperfect (but is still the best economy for the immediate future).

The reason that the ideas are held in such high regard is because the principles behind liberty and prosperity remain constant throughout time and circumstance, and serve as an ideal or compass. They form the basis of individualism by recognizing the source of value.

Liberty is not common, however. Vigilance toward liberty is a constant requirement to obtain more freedom.

Speaking of Lego, Brickarms (a lego compatible minifig weapons business) does offer silver and gold molded versions of their items from time to time. You should contact them directly about precious metal items.
http://brickarms.com

This is the same Brickarms company which you might recall was slandered as promoting terrorism and nazis by The Sun in their article 'Osama Bin Lego', which can be found here:
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2002041.ece

If you would like some Chrome, Gold, and Copper coated/plated Lego parts (Real metals, not paint), try here:
http://www.chromebricks.com/

I'm not only a competitive Lego builder, but I also sell parts and sets in my store called LibertyBRICK, which accepts AOCS silver for payment: http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?sID=59159

4. The FDIC authorize publication of the attached Prepaid Assessments Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and Request for Comment that would require insured institutions to prepay, on December 30, 2009, their estimated quarterly risk-based assessments for the fourth quarter 2009 and for all of 2010, 2011, and 2012. Staff estimates that total prepaid assessments would amount to approximately $45 billion.

Ah, the old 'lets ask for the money now!' cause it won't be there later routine. :P
