The Show / FTL mentioned on Handel on the Law re: Meg & TSA
« on: December 12, 2010, 10:42:09 AM »
Handel on the Law's Bill Handel covered the TSA story about Meg McClain.

By the way, Handel's advice about TSA agents is to OBEY THEM.

He also mentioned Free Talk Live, which he referred to as an 'internet show' even after it was described as a radio show from wherever he sourced the article he read from. He then compared FTL to his one time job at a grocery store, 'broadcasting' over the store intercom. He goes on to say it's not a radio show, which means he either doesn't do any research or is intently trying to mock the show despite the fact that FTL started in _broadcast_ and can also be found in the top 100 list on Talker's Magazine along with Handel himself.

In any case it's frightening to think he's claiming to give factual advice about legal matters.

General / WikiLeaks - The Substance
« on: December 08, 2010, 01:38:36 PM »
Created this thread for the purpose of discussing the substance of the leaks, namely the content of the WikiLeaks releases and related stories associated to that content.

Hillary Clinton's espionage approach to foreign relations:

FTA: "The Wikileaks information indicates that Hillary - and her predecessor, Condolleeza Rice - instructed American diplomats to gather information about "office and organizational titles; names, position titles and other information on business cards; numbers of telephones, cell phones, pagers, and faxes," as well as "Internet and intranet 'handles'; Internet e-mail addresses, website identification-URLs; credit card account numbers; frequent-flier account numbers; work schedules, and other relevant biographical information." "

"The fact that this current State Department covert operation was initiated under Rice does not lessen Hillary's guilt for having pursued it. Clinton, not Rice, has run for president and is presumed to continue to be interested in the job. Her addiction to spies, dumpster divers, sleuths and negative research operatives has always been a cause for concern. "

It's interesting how the substance of the WikiLeaks appears to have Democrats and Republicans in silent agreement not to use the revealed data against one another. Even Rush Limbaugh, who is notoriously antagonistic towards the Clintons, has given more lip service to the status quo by attacking Assange and WikiLeaks, and trivializing the substance of their work. Most recently, Limbaugh has spent his airtime obsessing over Obama and the nuances of the unemployment and tax issue.

General / WikiLeaks - The Noise
« on: December 08, 2010, 12:41:27 PM »
Wanted to separate the noise from the substance of the WikiLeaks issue. I encourage you to post your information on the noise here.

A Wikipedia founder says WikiLeaks is an enemy of the people.

Toronto Sun says: "We tend to side with one of WikiLeak's more prominent critics, Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger, who wants to be far removed from WikiLeaks, calling these whistleblowers nothing more than "enemies of the U.S. -- not just the government but the people.""

Photoshops / Vigilance Redux
« on: August 14, 2010, 12:09:26 PM »
Had a bit of downtime lately between projects and this Inkscape design is the result.

Actually, it's still a work in progress. I would like to add some cut-out areas behind the center area, and possibly a latin quote in the upper right. It's an Art Nouveau inspired variant of my neo-art deco Vigilance logo (I use it as a catch-all branding for art/online gaming/etc). I was specifically interested in something complementary to the late 19th century since I've been enjoying the Red Dead Redemption game lately. I'm sure the perceptive among you can appreciate the details. I'll give you a vector copy of the gun if you can figure that one out (should be easy, and it's also in RDR).

General / Red Dead Redemption Multiplayer, Anybody Playing?
« on: July 23, 2010, 08:38:21 PM »
I'm actually just starting the game while my brother has been playing a while. We're on the PS3 here. Wouldn't mind joining up with any other liberty advocates in multiplayer for a good time. You'll find me as Peppermint_Pig. My brother is Stone_Goblin. Feel free to add us as friends with a little heads up as to who you are. :)

The Show / Last.FM FTL News
« on: December 31, 2009, 08:44:34 AM »
Hey everyone! I was recently appointed the position of Leader of the Libertarians group on the Last.fm website.

Last.fm groups utilizes a feature called 'Connections', which allows me to associate liberty related musicians or podcasts with the group itself. I have just added the Free Talk Live show to the group connections list, and will be adding more connections soon.

If you have any suggestions for artists which aren't already listed, let me know. If you think any of the connected artists should not be listed, I'd also appreciate hearing from you about who, and why they should not.

If you like music and liberty, I welcome you to join Last.fm and join the group!!!

Thanks for your time!

Photoshops / What Would Your Money Look Like?

What Would Your Money Look Like?

This thread is for posting your own designs of what you'd like to see in a currency (coins/certificates). Doesn't have to be location specific (IE: New Hampshire). Descriptions are nice. Nothing is too silly.. I think.. I hope.

I would love to have this made some day. I call it a Vigilance Dollar. It uses an art-deco inspired design with a mirror finish on the webbing. The lines fan out subtly and give it a dynamic flow. I designed this many months ago, though only one side is done. I would likely not have much if any markings on this side, and would likely avoid portraiture on the reverse. Might be good as a 1/2 oz, though the details beg for a larger coining. If anyone out there has the means and interest to see this realized... PM or reply.

I decided to just do some photoshop ones this time and skip illustrating or manipulating too much.. if I'm feeling up to it, maybe I'll do something fancy.

C+C welcomed. (comment and critique)

Hi everyone.. I've been a forum member for a while now, but have only recently gone active. I dabble with Photoshop, so I thought I should share an old item from Fark.

Hopefully I'll find the time to participate in photoshops here.. enjoy :)
