I had some elk yesterday...I was in Utah skiing.  It's too bad that state is overrun by crazy, freedom-hating religious extremists.  Otherwise, it's a nice place :)

Where did you ski? My fav is Powder Mountain.

For the record, I like it.

Thanks for the tips on the bake time. My oven is kind of wimpy. I'll try 12 minutes, and adjust up to 15 if needed.
BTW, kids are competing to be the official cookie crusher. I may be able to their dreams of eating large amounts of broken Joe Joes (Trader Joe's Oreos) to get them to finish cleaning out under their beds. If so, will be major win.

And, in the spirit of sharing recipes, here's one I just received via RSS feed that seems perfect for you:
http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/chile-lime-tequila-popcorn-recipe.html
From the description:
Quote
Fresh popcorn is tossed with melted butter, lime juice, jalapeno peppers, red pepper flakes, cumin and a splash of tequila.
This is happening around here next Movie Night.

Oooh, that looks yummy.   :D

I love that butterfly...

It is your intention that the universe is responding to.
And how does it do that?
Fuck if I know or care.

Well, I guess that explains why nobody here finds this kind of thinking at all convincing.  We do  care, because otherwise there's no reason to believe it.

Scientist, to a Native American doing a rain dance: "Why do you do this?"
Native American: "Because it brings the rain."
Scientist: "And how does it do that?"
Native American: "Fuck if I know or care."
Scientist: "Why don't you care?"
Native American: "I just know it works for me.  I'm not a scientist.  I just think it's empowering."

All that you, Sam and Mark were doing on that show was one big long rain dance.

Rill, you said not to have heroes, as they have feet of clay. Still, you are mine!

Yeah, I see your confusion.  It is your intention that the universe is responding to.  You are the universe experiencing itself.
[/quote]

I am the universe experiencing itself......

God DAMN I hate reductionism!

Ian, clarify for me:

1. Does reality exist in an objective form?
2. As Rill asked before, when did humans evolve the power to control the universe?

I would LOVE for all this to be a misunderstanding....

Ok, tell me how this strikes you:

Do you believe in evolution? (If no, stop here)

If so, do you believe that humans evolved?

Does the Law of Attraction apply to animals? Meaning, do animals' thoughts affect "reality" in the same way that we do?

If not, then how would humans have evolved this ability to affect everything throughout the universe?  At what point in our evolution did our thoughts begin to affect everything?  Do you believe that this is scientifically sound?

Awesome!

He wanted to rearrange the existing violent government to be more nice to some people and less nice to others.  That's not clear-cut violence on his part, nor is it without precedent: many existing laws create race-based limits, only the government demagogues use them to gain favor with the non-racist majority, that's all the difference between "affirmative action" and what I imagine Scott is proposing...   :?

I got the impression he like idea of camps....

Can I call you "Rill"? it sounds cool to me.

Indeed.   :)

Awesome, Rill. I think it is neat, Rill. I wish my name lent itself so well to a nickname, Rill. Rill Rill Rill Rill Rill

Rill made a new stalker....

I am not sure I could pull off being a stalker...

Did Scott ever advocate initiating violence against anyone?  (And I do mean violence violence, not "I choose not to do business with you" violence, as some pink tutu socialists might misuse the term.)  If not, what's the big deal?  He's not the first bigoted idiot to call in and he won't be the last.

People like that, if they are serious about their beliefs, should be allowed to start all-bigot communities (different ones for different localities and categories of bigotry, obviously) and see how they do.  My money is lousy.

Racism ==> Ostracism!

Hey if they take a peaceful route and dont act like nazi's then I dont give a shit. If so then who cares if everyone on this thread complains about a bigot. They arent harming him. A bigot was a bigot to the bigoted.

I think he was saying he wanted to outlaw the jewery from entering any lines of work he felt was important. Just one example of his violence....
