The Polling Pit / Re: Best Cigarette?
« on: March 28, 2007, 10:53:48 PM »
You need to at least have Nat Sherman on the list. Not the girly colored ones, though.

Best cigarettes hands down are made by Davidoff. The Magnums are particularly good. They won't export them to the US anymore because of all the fascist tariffs we have, though. I highly recommend ordering some from one of those Swedish websites. You have to wait a while, and they may be confiscated by customs, but they are worth it.

Here is another of my favorites - the Aeternitas by Muller. Unlike most perpetual calendars, not only does it account for leap years, but it accounts for every hundred years that is not a leap year, and also for every four hundred years that is. Look at all those complications. It also has an eight-day power reserve.

Ahhh, but the advanced technology of this modern age is precisely what keeps the ancient art of timekeeping most refreshing.

A watch that requires oiling and charging? Yeah, no thanks.

Open an automatic sometime and take a gander at the movement. You will likely begin to appreciate the inhuman degree of craftsmanship that goes into it.

If you leave your auto on a winder when you're not wearing it, then you'll never have to worry about it running out of juice if you don't wear it for a while. Sending into the shop for a little oil and cleaning every three years keeps it good as new and allows you to pass it down for generations, if you so choose.

Automatics are surely not for everyone, but I would encourage you not to so readily dismiss them because they require some extra care.

I saw one of these a few months ago - quite possibly the coolest thing that has ever been created by human hands: www.urwerk.com

I feel naked without one. Believe me, no one wants to see me naked.

I know for a fact they are doing an episode on "sweatshops" with Ben Powell.

The Polling Pit / Re: Male Masturbation Recepticle Question

It seems like it was necessary to indicate that it was creamy, as opposed to the watery tenth load of the day. Three years of watery load would not be nearly as disgusting as three years of creamy load.

In my fraternity days, I used to get totally pissed that everyone would use my restroom to defecate, when they was a perfectly good public restroom two doors down.

In silent retaliation, I made it a point to blow at least one creamy load per day on the hand towel I kept by the sink. After three years, I got up to give my farewell address and told them about the towel. There was serious bumming going on that evening.

I used "Love Song" by The Cure at my wedding. That worked out well.

Well, how bout them apples?

Very nice Menger

I cleaned a speck off my screen.

I want to say thats a Boxter, but something seems a little off about it...  Unless I'm just not up with the models.

That's the 987 Boxster, completely redesigned from the 986 beginning with the 2005 model year. The most noticeable exterior differences are going to be the headlight shape, and the shape / color of the side air intakes.

Check it out sometime. There really isn't anything out there that will perform on this level, have as comfortable an interior, and be priced so normal Joes can buy it. The Cayman S is a pretty good buy as well, if you need the extra performance. Not quite worth the extra money to me, though.

The Polling Pit / Re: 311 the most Libertarian mainstream band
« on: January 16, 2007, 12:55:41 PM »
I don't know if it counts as Libertarian if I cannot understand what they are talking about.

You kids today with your MTV and rock n' roll...

Try some Steely Dan. Gotta love a band named after a steam-powered dildo.

Agents of the law
Luckless pedestrian
I know you're out there
With rage in your eyes and your megaphones
Saying all is forgiven
Mad Dog surrender
How can I answer
A man of my mind can do anything

CHORUS:
I'm a bookkeeper's son
I don't want to shoot no one
Well I crossed my old man back in Oregon
Don't take me alive
Got a case of dynamite
I could hold out here all night
Yes I crossed my old man back in Oregon
Don't take me alive

Can you hear the evil crowd
The lies and the laughter
I hear my inside
The mechanized hum of another world
Where no sun is shining
No red light flashing
Here in this darkness
I know what I've done
I know all at once who I am

General / Re: Christian Anarchy is the only sensible answer...

There might be some people, such as myself, who would be interested in discovering the arguments put forth in this thread, but are not willing togo through 100 pages to explore all the various tangents contained therein.

Perhaps our Christian Anarchist or another interested party might be willing to consolidate the salient points in an organized fashion and post them elsewhere.
