Probably a yakuza hit. Most of these deaths are men in their 20-30s and I think there is evidence that they kill themselves off fairly regularly and quickly. It is possible that he heard of this technique and decided to try it.

If you have any examples of heroic acts sam has done I'd be happy to hear them.

He has the courage to sit in a jail for the nobility of his purpose. He risks his life by trying to force the government to face him in court by starving himself, revealing the torture and evil the organization is willing to go through to illicit obedience. He faced the Texas government alone before coming to New Hampshire and I would say he has been favored in everything that he's done including/up until now.

Thats not how proof works.

I don't have to prove its not working, you have to prove that it is.

Are you not claiming that Sam isn't a hero? All you did was post a definition. Prove that what Sam is doing doesn't require strength and courage. That it doesn't serve his purpose of forcing the law back on the government. You can refute my statements as untrue, but that doesn't mean the opposite is true.

If you want to keep someone from viewing the tape, then encryption is good. The thief will not destroy it because he has an interest in finding out what's on it. In fact you have an interest in keeping it from being copied.

But if the thief steals to protect himself he wants one copy, destroyed in an unrecoverable way. He will destroy the platter of the harddrive. You have an interest in making thousands of copies, and spreading them.

You can have the best of both worlds, by copying encrypted file systems.

Took me less than a minute to check the facts.

This story is totally bogus.

Every link to a claim specifically about guns goes to the exact same website, and they're all 404'd

Also, the primary article cited at the NYT has NOTHING to do with gun disarmament. It does, however, focus on nuclear disarmament.

Yeah, I am glad my bunk detector is working this morning, I took this article with a grain of salt. I imagine tightening ammunition is on the agenda. We've already seen that, but frankly I think 1% or more of gun owners would shoot anyone that came to confiscate their firearms, plus there would be police that would just refuse.
