Free Radio Forum / Mic?

A friend of mine has just completed a series of trial podcasts, & is considering updating his mic. He mentioned the "Heil pr-40" as one that he's looking at. Can any of you tell me if this is a good mic? A good value? I remember, Ian, when you did some tests with potential replacement mics, & believe you decided to replace all but yours, as you were happy with the one you had. I can't seem to find any discussion about them, and was wondering what the two mics you were comparing are.

Zerocoin is not intended as a replacement for Bitcoin. It's actually a separate anonymous currency that's designed to live side-by-side with Bitcoin on the same block chain. Aside from educated guesswork, there's no way to link a Zerocoin Mint transaction to the Zerocoin Spend transaction that redeems it.
Redeeming a zerocoin gives you a completely different set of bitcoins than the ones you used to purchase it. In fact, you can think of Zerocoin like the world's biggest laundry -- one that can handle millions of users, has no trusted party, and can't be compromised. Once as user converts her bitcoins into zerocoins, it's very hard to determine where she took them back out. Their funds are mixed up with all of the other users who also created zerocoins. And that's a pretty powerful guarantee.

ST. PETERSBURG — The four masked men stormed up to the house with purpose early Tuesday morning.

It took just two strong kicks to bust down the door of the rust colored, single family home at 7014 Orpine Drive N.
"Police! Police! Police!" the group shouted, guns raised.
Once inside, authorities said, the robbers demanded cash and drugs from the two occupants: Richard Lamar Shaw, 41, and his adult son.
The robbers shot Shaw in the upper torso, police said. He died soon afterward at Northside Hospital. His son was unharmed.
Police believe the men also are responsible for a similar home invasion that took place about 25 minutes earlier at 5800 First St. N., a couple of miles away.
In that case, police said, a group of armed and masked young men barged into the home about 4:20 a.m. yelling "police," and asking for money and jewelry.
They roughed up a occupant Gregg M. Gordon, 51, and took property before fleeing.
"There are enough similarities that we believe these are the same suspects," said St. Petersburg police spokesman Bill Proffitt. "We don't believe these are random acts. It appears more like these victims were targeted."
Hours after the shooting, family friend and neighbor Timothy Bidwell paced near the scene at 70th Avenue N and Orpine Drive.
Crime tape kept him from getting too close to the house Shaw owned with his wife Tory, who died last week from cancer.
"It's not right," said Bidwell, 33, who said he'd known Shaw for nearly 20 years. Bidwell said his uncle was best friends with Shaw, and the two lived in the same Meadowlawn neighborhood for years. "He didn't deserve this."
Shaw's wife died June 11 at the home. The couple had been married 18 years and raised two sons.
"Rick was so strong about it," Bidwell said. "It's just a shame. It's just a very sad situation."
Police did not have detailed descriptions of the robbers Tuesday afternoon, but released a video of the break-in at Shaw's home. It was captured by an exterior surveillance system at the home.
Bidwell said people had tried to break into Shaw's home before, and that he'd bought a gun to protect his family.
Police said they'd been called to the home three times this year.
In March, Proffitt said, one of Shaw's sons reported that someone he'd had a dispute with drove by the home and pointed a gun. Officers also were called to the home June 11, the day Shaw's wife died.
On Friday, Shaw called police saying someone had egged his home.

With all due respect to FTL, this being FTL's board & all.. I'm surprised with all the differing opinions that there aren't more organizations out there to suit the varying tastes of the liberty minded.
One reason I've supported both Ian, and Denis, is because they do a lot more than most. I encourage all others to implement what they think will help most, and would likely support your efforts as well.

If you both agree about the amount owed, and would like to work out a way to protect the lenders money, without swamping the borrower, you could agree to do something like:
$7,500 payable 10% interest only for 1 year, w/the balance due at the end of the term. That means a manageable payment of $62.50 a month, for 12 month, would protect the lenders money (or whatever interest rate they agree to, for whatever period of time). This would allow the borrower to service the debt, and hopefully recover to pay it off in full.
If even in those circumstances, one, or both, of you aren't confident that the borrower would be able to honor this agreement, perhaps the borrower could pay with some other thing suitable to the lender. If there is nothing suitable, the borrower could sell something to the lender, minus the money owed.
I've seen a situation where someone needed money, and there was potential lender who didn't have complete faith in the would be borrower's ability to repay. So the one with the money purchased the house from the one who needed the money, for just the amount needed, and gave them back a lease/option (option was same as purchase price +10%) back as part of the deal. In this circumstance, the one who needed the money actually was able to make the lease payments, protecting his option, and then sold the option to a buyer for the house. If the borrower/tenant couldn't have performed, the lender/home owner was happy with it, because the real estate was more valuable to him than the money it cost him. He was paid off, and made 10% on his money in less than two years, which was also a fine deal for him.
I mention this as it might be a model that works in this situation.. perhaps there is something BJ could give Coconut (of much greater value to Coconut than is owed) as payment for the debt... that Coconut would agree to sell back within the next year for whatever amount you can agree to (amount currently owed, plus whatever interest is suitable, I'd imagine). At this point BJ would have satisfied his current debt, and have the option to purchase his property back. In either event Coconut would be satisfied. Coconut could either keep whatever it is, or sell it.
I know this type of thing isn't what you guys had in mind originally, but if you give it some thought, you'll come up with some way/s to solve it.

Any agreement is fine as long as both parties intend to honor it. If you think you're going to appeal to the state, I don't see you having any luck with 200% interest rate. I'd suggest adjusting the terms on whatever is owed to you, in exchange for some sort of additional security. Perhaps interest only payments (at a very different rate) with 18 month balloon would give him enough time to get it in order, and protect the principle for you.
One option that I hesitate to recommend, but I've seen used in a particularly harsh situation, is getting a judgement, and attaching it to a pet. I don't know how I feel about this, and I think I'd only consider doing it if I felt considerably wronged, but it has resulted in motivation where all else failed, when the pet was taken away. Obviously, if the person doesn't care for their pet, this won't inspire them much.
If you work together, there is almost certainly some other arrangement that can be made to satisfy the debt.
