The Show / Right on, Ian.
« on: July 23, 2011, 06:47:26 PM »
I clicked into the 'Listen Live' stream sometime during the day Saturday and landed in a conversation where a lady was calling FTL out on always ragging on the coppers (from the little I heard of her). Ian's response was spot on: (paraphrasing) "I'm not saying cops don't do good things; its just that when a police officer does something bad, they can't be held accountable in this system." He then goes on to say that being able to withhold payment would go a long way toward accountability. I think this is spot on and that you guys should echo this sentiment a little more loudly to temper your stance a bit. This way, the average radio listener is less likely to think you're just radical, probably-violent kooks.

If one reads the writing of the founders, they believed that rights, endowed by our Creator, apply to ALL HUMAN BEINGS, regardless of where they happened to be born. All humans were entitled to be free, but some men (governments) would interfere with those rights, and America was to be a place to escape to where government would protect those rights.
Then it is really weird that many of the founders had slaves, and the constitution allowed for slavery.

I'm just saying...
Not to be insensitive, but at the time, blacks were somewhere just above cattle and just under 'savages' on the creators scale, with beasts at the bottom, God at the top, and white people just under 'H'im.

I would also like to point out that keeping tiny kiddos out of first class isn't the worst thing in the world for an airline to do...

Before I read the link, I'm going to put in that I would likely avoid places barring children (with the exception of bars, etc...of course), but do not believe that place shouldn't be allowed to bar my kid.

The weakness of the Constitution was the complacency of the people. If us commoners had held the politicians to the thing it would have worked.

This...Which is the same sentiment echoed by many of the 'founders'. Trees of Liberty and all of that.

Good observations, Drifter, but I don't think it will lead to a pay-per-view style service. The whole point of Netflix is the subscription model. I don't think we'll see an entire industry revert largely back to the older model that Netflix obliterated.

Meh, someone needs to show me how Prime is better. Any decent title requires extra payment and they don't have much(read: anything good) in the part I was able to peruse.

I just found my new favorite Youtube channel. (not that I know of many)
http://www.youtube.com/user/LearnLiberty

It's pretty academic, so if that's not your thing, shy away.
