General / Success story that will inspire generations: The Goffstown 6

9 Republicans ran for the Republican nomination to the New Hampshire House in Goffstown on September 11th. 6 of the Republican candidates were pro-liberty candidates. 6 of the candidates were labeled pro-liberty by New Hampshire Freedom. Heck, even the controversial Speak of the New Hampshire House endorsed the 6 candidates.

The Republican Liberty Caucus of New Hampshire endorsed 4 of the candidates. The New Hampshire Liberty Alliance endorsed 5 of the candidates. However, New Hampshire Freedom knew the inside story. The blog labeled all 6 candidates pro-liberty. Oddly enough, the New Hampshire Speaker of the House went so far as to personally endorse the 6 candidates while he was a guest on Girard at Large, a Goffstown radio show. This may have been the only endorsement Speaker O’Brien made in New Hampshire House races outside of his own district.

All 6 candidates won in the primary. If you look at the vote totals, the more pro-liberty a candidates was, the more votes a candidate received. There is a good chance all 6 pro-liberty candidates win in the November 6th general election as Goffstown is a Republican leaning town. If that happens, Goffstown, New Hampshire will have more pro-liberty legislators than many states in America. This is a New Hampshire Primary success story.

As for the 3 Republican who lost in the primary, I’m sorry for your lose. Please educate yourself on the principles of freedom and prosperity for all. Even the famous local liberal Henry David Thoreau said “that government is best which governs least.”

Huge list of New Hampshire 2012 pro-liberty candidates and recommendations
http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?385401-Huge-list-of-New-Hampshire-2012-pro-liberty-candidates-and-recommendations

Below are lists of recommendations for the 9/11 primary election and a list of pro-liberty candidates.  After the primary, I'll update the list of recommendations for the 11/6 general election.  This task is still a work in progress and quite time consuming as NH has both the most candidates and the most pro-liberty candidates.

NH Primary Recommendations:
Sometimes the recommended candidates aren't great pro-liberty candidates.  Some races don't have pro-liberty candidates so that best available candidate is recommended.  Recommendations are only listed for contested primaries.

NH Governor -
Ovide Lamontagne

The Cilley Zombie Ad?
September 5, 2012

Is Jackie Cilley calling for a new New Hampshire general sales tax, a new New Hampshire personal income tax, a new New Hampshire state property tax or perhaps all 3?

Jackie Cilley is running for the Democratic Party nomination to be the next governor of New Hampshire. She is an underdog candidate against Maggie Hassan. Maggie took the no new broad based tax pledge. Veteran Bill Kennedy is also in the race. Bill is honest about his support for a new broad based New Hampshire tax. Bill’s primary goal as governor will be to create a new personal income tax in New Hampshire.

When will Jackie be like her opponents and tell us what she wants to do? Does she want to drastically increase property taxes in New Hampshire? Does she want to create a new 5% general sales tax, even though it would likely cost New Hampshire 1,000s of jobs? Jackie, where do you stand?

Internet access, computer usage and internet speed, New Hampshire tops all 3 categories! <- Actually, the so called research showed DE tops in internet speed

http://nhfreedom.wordpress.com/2012/08/14/internet-access-computer-usage-and-internet-speed-new-hampshire-tops-all-3-categories/

Quote
New Hampshire leads the nation in internet access, computers in homes and internet speed.  According to the US Census Bureau, 86% of NH households are on the internet and 91% of NH households include at least 1 computer.  On average, 76% of US households are online.  See the raw data or pretty maps.

New Hampshire takes a back seat to only Delaware when it comes to internet speed.  In the 1st quarter of 2012, DE had an average connection speed of 10.2 Mbps.  That is only 9% faster than the average connection speed in NH according to Akamai.  The average speed in the US was 6.7 Mbps.  The average speed in the world was 2.6 Mbps.  NH’s average connection speed is remarkable considering the population density.  According to Wikipedia, the population density is 464.3 people per square mile in DE and 147.0 people per square mile in NH.

Study: Oral Sex Cures Morning Sickness

http://washington.cbslocal.com/2012/08/10/study-oral-sex-cures-morning-sickness/

Quote
ALBANY, N.Y. (CBSDC) – Pregnant women have used natural remedies such as a teaspoon of ginger or a mint to help battle morning sickness. But now, one medical professional believes you can add oral sex to that list.

According to Gordon Gallup, a psychologist at SUNY-Albany, the best way to cure morning sickness during pregnancy is sperm.

But not just any sperm, it should be the sperm of the person who got you pregnant.

Quote
Gallup agrees with the 2000 abstract from the National Center for Biotechnology Information, which showed that oral sex and swallowing sperm is correlated with a diminished occurrence of preeclampsia.

In 2010, 42% of LibertyCandidates.com endorsed candidates that were elected lived in New Hampshire

In 2010, LibertyCandidates.com endorsed 255 candidates for office.  Of those 255 candidates, 12 were elected.  5 or 42% of the 12 candidates ran for office and won in New Hampshire.

How many candidates will LibertyCandidates.com endorse in 2012?  How many of the candidates will win?  How many of the winning candidates will live in the Live Free or Die state?

Police checkpoint activism – Concord New Hampshire style
http://nhfreedom.wordpress.com/2012/08/09/police-checkpoint-activism-concord-new-hampshire-style/

Check the link above for the videos and photos.  The text is below.

Quote
New Hampshire is 1 of those states where sobriety checkpoints are legal. All the police have to do is get the approve from a judge and then tell the media in a town that a checkpoint will happen in that town. The media then reports when the checkpoint will happen. On July 27th, the Concord Monitor reported that a sobriety checkpoint would happen in Concord, NH during the 1st week of August.  NH drivers are allowed to turn around before a checkpoint, but only in such a manner as would be legal if a checkpoint wasn’t present.

Liberty activists from Manchester like to warn folks about these unconstitutional checkpoints, even if they have to go to Concord to do so.  Activists take a variety of actions including warning people and encouraging others to join in on the fun via Porc411, holding up warning signs near the checkpoint and warning motorists about checkpoints by projecting a laser on a near-by overpass.

On August 3rd, police conducted a checkpoint in Concord, NH.  Manchester folks knew it was going to happen, heard it was happening and joined the party.  They held signs warning motorists.  The police didn’t like that so they tried to intimate the liberty activists.  The liberty activists knew they were in the right so they didn’t back down.  Eventually, the police left the liberty activists alone.  Then the liberty activists took out a laser and projected “POLICE CHECKPOINT AHEAD” on the side of an overpass.  See for yourself, it is all in the video.

This type of activism has happened before in NH.  No doubt, it will continue to happen until the unconstitutional police checkpoints stop.

The New Hampshire Liberty Alliance 2012 Liberty Rating is online
http://nhfreedom.wordpress.com/2012/08/10/the-new-hampshire-liberty-alliance-2012-liberty-rating-is-online/

The New Hampshire Liberty Alliance 2012 Liberty Rating is online.  Of note, Representative Paul Brown won the Legislative of the Year award for having the most pro-liberty voting record in the New Hampshire legislature.  In 2011, Paul Brown was rated the runner-up for the award.  Senator James Forsythe had the highest rating among the senators.

http://www.nhliberty.org/2012_Liberty_Rating

Here is what the NHLA printed on the 2nd page of the Liberty Rating.

Quote
This is the ninth annual Liberty Rating issued by the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance, based on 84 roll call votes in the House and 30 in the Senate. Bills have been carefully selected for inclusion which clearly demonstrate the level of respect our elected representatives show for our individual rights and liberties.

This year we offer our sincerest thanks to the NHLA Legislator of the Year, the Honorable Representative Paul Brown for his unwavering support of liberty. Paul’s voting record proves his dedication to the principles upon which this great state, as well as this organization, were founded.

This report card is based on pro-liberty and anti-liberty votes and their impact on the State of New Hampshire—actual, recorded floor votes on legislation in the House and Senate.

Pro-liberty votes protect individual freedom of choice and personal responsibility; recognize the superiority of freedom over coercion; respect the citizen’s right of self ownership; promote governance that is transparent, accountable, and adheres to the Constitution; and recognize the value of voluntary economic decisions.

Anti-liberty votes replace self-governance with interventionist regulation; assume rules made by agencies backed by force are superior to voluntary choices backed by personal accountability; and assume a better economy can be managed by a central authority that compels people and businesses to pay for policies they may not willingly support.

The Liberty Rating is the result of hundreds of hours of work by many volunteers who have read and analyzed bills, testified before committees, called and written their representatives, worked on our other signature publication, the Gold Standard, and culled extensive data from legislative voting records.

We encourage New Hampshire citizens to learn the facts about how their elected representatives are voting in Concord and to use this tool to hold them accountable. This report card serves as a valuable voter guide when these same representatives are running for re-election.

Help, I need frequent flyer miles quick!

It is going to be 90 degrees outside today.  According to this map, I'm in the hottest part of the country.

http://www.weather.com/maps/activity/fitness/usforecastmondayhigh_large.html

Thankfully, it looks like there is hope.  If I can get a ticket from NH to some place cold like CA, AZ, UT, NV or NM I'll be OK.

Please, help a brother out!

P.S. This is so annoying!  Why does New England have to be the hottest part of the country?

The bubble bursts for 'hamster balls'
Maine regulators suspend use of the human spheres until a group is done developing a safety standard.

But Hunnewell said his business took precautions.

The pool had a padded rail, the floor around it was padded with foam, the water was no deeper than 14 inches, and participants were under constant supervision during a strictly enforced five-minute time limit.

He said he even hired a company to test whether the oxygen levels in the balls were safe.

"We're just trying to persuade the state to take a look at it. Is it safe to do it the way we've been doing it?" Hunnewell said Monday.

He said 21,000 people used the hamster balls last year, with only two incidents – both knee-to-nose contact – that required ice packs. For laser tag, he said, about 20 incidents required ice packs.

Detroit Primary Results 2012: More Votes For Obama, Ron Paul, Rick Santorum Than Mitt Romney

But Detroit voters don't seem to see him that way: Romney received just 1,338 votes here.

In the 2008 Republican primary, he managed to win the city with 1,661 votes. But opponents -- both Republicans and likely some mischief-making Democrats -- turned out in greater numbers this year to deny Romney another Detroit victory.

Instead, Texas Rep. Ron Paul won the Detroit GOP vote, with 5,525 ballots cast. Behind Paul was former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum with 4,047 votes.

Ron Paul campaigned in both Detroit and Dearborn, which borders Detroit.  Way to go Ron Paul folks in Detroit!

Paul 5,525
Santorum 4,047
Romney 1,338

On principle, Free does not vote -- though he's considered making an exception, in order to cast a ballot for Ron Paul.

The website Fr33 Agents rewards civil disobedience: one point for going to court to support another activist; one point for refusing to take a plea deal; one point for selling lemonade without a license.

Free will get 22 points when he leaves Virginia over the summer to move to New Hampshire, getting him closer to one of the site's prizes, like a video camera. He'll be joining the Free State Project, a whole community devoted to living out the small-state ideal in New Hampshire, itself a state with no seatbelt laws and no sales tax. The group has attracted 1,000 people so far, but aims to grow to 20,000 participants.

He's also recently started putting coins into parking meters that are about to expire. He calls it "Robin Hooding."
