General / Re: Chemtrails
« on: November 28, 2009, 11:21:01 PM »
I was driving south of my place a couple of days ago and snapped this picture...

It is hard to see in this shot but there were about 20 perfectly aligned con... err chemtrails streaking across the sky. They started at the horizon and covered a third of the southern sky. It was quite a site honestly. Too bad I could not have taken a better shot with the blackberry... I was trying to text, eat a big mac and drive while snapping the shot.

I began to think, hey maybe there is something to this chemtrail thing.... Then I realized it was thanksgiving , I live directly between Minneapolis and Denver and I should pull my head out of my ass.

General / Re: Cisco CCNA Certification
« on: November 18, 2009, 07:08:10 PM »
I am a CCNA and will be taking my last test for CCSP monday. The tests are hard but passable if you have real world experience.

I am also a MCSE, MCITP-Enterprise Administrator and Database Administrator, HP Procurve ASE, Sonicwall CSSA and a shitpile of lesser stuff.  (chicks dig my certs)

The Cisco tests are on par with the MS professional stuff as far as difficulty is concerned with the exception that the Cisco tests seemed to really push me as far as time was concerned.

I usually study with used Sybex books off Amazon.com or, if the boss is paying, Testout or CBT Nuggets are nice.

Microsoft tests are generally easier to study for as you can download VMs of all their products.  Not so much so with Cisco. I lucked out though, I have a few 1800 series routers, a couple ASAs and a pile of switches from work. Hands-on training is the only way I can retain anything.

My main problem now is I am running the risk of looking overqualified for most jobs in my neck of the woods.  I figure if the consulting gig I've got going on now goes tits up I will go in to teaching before I work in an IT shop again....

General / Re: Let's Vote Against FTL on Podcast Alley
« on: November 05, 2009, 10:10:31 AM »
To me it doesn't really matter if I am entertained by FTL. I am, but I support FTL because of the pro-freedom message. If you are pro-freedom you should support FTL any way you can because it is the only show like it out there. If we support FTL and it gets more and more popular maybe there will be other shows like it that will eventually compete with it and you will find a show you really like.

Until then I think we should support FTL and if you have criticisms let them know. Or better yet call in and be a "song" yourself. :-)

I will respectfully disagree as this is the point I was making regarding "just voting" to inflate the ranking numbers ...

I do support FTL and agree with the message; but, inflating a turd to a #1 ranking will not do as much to spread the voice of freedom as you think. A quality product will promote itself. It will naturally become popular and spread the word far more effectively.

The hosts have the potential to be great at what they do... they have just not flexed it as of late. The threat of being knocked out of the #1 spot is welcome competition in my mind.

As far as me calling in to voice my song... I would not add anything to the show. I agree with the hosts most of the time and my call would be nothing more than 3 guys of similar mindset agreeing with each other. These "preaching to the choir" type of calls are far too frequent on FTL and are one of the things that can make it stale.

FTL needs more Pam and the bitter old stop sign nazi that called a couple nights ago.

General / Let's Vote Against FTL on Podcast Alley
« on: November 03, 2009, 05:33:06 PM »
Just for kicks....  :D

Let's "NOT" vote for FTL on podcast alley.... beyond that, let's vote for the current #1 podcast "Double Feature"... for no reason other than to increase their lead over FTL.

Why??? I would like to see FTL get back to the #1 spot by providing a great product.... not by having Ian beg for votes during the show.

I am sorry, but it is FTL's fault they are falling in the rankings.  The show has become lazy and unbearable recently...

I stopped voting and listening a handful of weeks ago when FTL decided to debate the definition of the word "objectivism" for a month straight. Was the topic important??? Maybe. Did it deserve to have the holy living fuck beaten out of it show after show after show after show? Maybe not...

More recently....

I support the 420 protesters but.... JESUSTITTYFUCKINGCHRIST!!! You can take every episode from the day the protests began, interchange them or shuffle them in any order, and easily realize... You are listening to THE SAME DAMNED SHOW over and over and over and over and over again....

I know this is an important topic, maybe the pinnacle of importance in Keene,  but listening to the same show day after day makes for horrible radio.

So yeah.... the reason the show is falling in the rankings… it has been a complete pile lately…

Here's the direct link to vote for "Double Feature"

"The Wind That Shakes the Barley"

It gives a good glimpse of how life would be living in a country that is occupied by another.

Tell your roommates not to rape pigs without a condom next time.

Hey, it was completely consensual.

An update on my battle with the swine flu... 2 days after my first symptoms and I feel great. I am guessing I will be 100% tomorrow.

Precisely the same story as the couple other times I've had the flu in my life.... not a big deal. I would take this over a week of the common cold any day.

My two roomates were diagnosed with the h1n1 aids a few days ago.

I came down with the same symptoms yesterday so I am assuming the same is true for me.

I had chills, aches, white lung butter and a fever that broke around 3:00 this morning. I feel fine now...

A day and a half of little aches and chills.... It's the flu.... what's the big faaaking deal????
