The problem I have with IP is that I feel like am being forced at gunpoint to pay for the collections departments of these huge corporations.
If a record company or whatever wants to keep an artist's recording or movie under total control, then they should build a stadium or theater or something and charge admission and never let "copies" of their idea out in to the public.
If a company records an aritst or a movie etc and distributes an album, that company is using all types of "IP" to get their product distributed. Should the copyright holder of "roads", "electricity", "plastic", "the internal combustion engine" or the "wheel" or the miriad of things needed to distribute that album or movie be able to hold the record company liable for stealing their "IP"?
The original poster is missing one huge point when he says "If you don't want to support IP, stop consuming copyrighted material". Well, that doesn't stop the violence and theft that is being forced upon me. Even if I stop using copyrighted or corporate products, I am still forced at gunpoint to pay for fat salaries and retirements of the beurucrats that enforce IP laws.
If these companies want to control the distribution of their product, let them pay for it.

I smell an ulterior motive here.
The petition is asking for your first name, last name, email, zip code.... Google plus and gmail etc constantly nag you for you cell phone number.
Looks to me like the googles wants to tie more data to your google cookie.

That might be a little too obscure for this suburban whitebread midwest city.We are a cover band so we kind of need to be sell outs on our song selections since people are coming to hear songs they know. I just dont want to resort to the same crap that gets puked up at wedding dances and karaoke.

Hey we are looking for some new songs to cover in my band. The primary goal is to find SEXY dance tunes. We're still playing just covers so it would have to be fairly recognizable and popular.. I'd like to stay with popular music within the last 15 years. I don't have a trans am with t-tops so we can't do 80's butt rock, metal, classic rock or anything you've heard at the same clone of a clone of a wedding for the last 30 years. It would have to work with only guitar, bass and drums. We're not silly enough to have a synth player.
Little Sister by QOTS is a perfect example of what I'm looking for. The whole bar needs a shower after we play this one.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated unless it's nickelback We are going to rule this neck of the woods if we can nail down a half dozen or so more songs as grrrreasy as this.
