The Show / Re: Less Stephanie, Please
« on: September 28, 2011, 01:25:13 AM »
Not to derail the topic.....rather to re-rail the topic:
Preface: I listen to every minute of every show, regardless of what I think of Stephanie.
I was hoping it was just me that finds Stephanie to be like fingernails on a chalkboard. Believe it or not,  I do comprehend that women are individuals. I can even accept that generalizations might not apply to every woman on the planet. Often, I can predict her response and I wonder why such a smart woman would bother stating the obvious; if not to be condescending. Why does she feel compelled to tell waste airtime telling us everyone is unique in every way?
We get it.

As for her voice, It makes me cringe. It is a similar sensation as hearing someone grind the gears in a brand new sports car.
It is better or worse depending on which mic she's on. I find it super irritating that she will be right on the mic and then trail off randomly. Maybe it's my own deep psychological issue, but her laugh makes me angry.
Adjustments to the mic processing might help some of it. The rest might need some combination of pot and a good lay.
I hope there is something constructive in this post.

I'm more concerned about the bio-parents that lost their baby to the County because they couldn't afford $100k to fight to get their kid back. Gay or not the new parents are receiving stolen property and the County gets paid federal funds when they take babies.
The baby doesn't have a chance at a decent life either way once CPS comes to the door.
Let's spend less time worrying about where a man puts his cock and more time shutting down the most sinister agency of all. The agency that is tearing apart the very fabric of our society. The agency that gets more and more funding every year because it will never run out of families to take apart.
Adoption is a huge business promoted by government violence.

As HD2 HD3 and such roll out on broadcast bands, stations will need alternate programming. Hopefully, something that gets PPM numbers to make their HD channels worth broadcasting. (some have found it a waste of electricity)

FTL and LRN would be great for those channels.

Wow, useful tip!   8)

The later models of the 15 and 20 watt units can also be set for low and high power. These two units are really great for driving large power amplifiers.

I used one as a temporary exciter to drive a Harris FM-25 transmitter. The Harris FM-25 is a 25Kw power amp cabinet that only needs about 15 watts to make full power on the lower third of the band.

The station is KMLD 94.5 in Casper Wy.
Do they have remote control I/O for muting, APC, failsafe and such?

Having stopped at almost every truck stop in the Southwest, I would have to say that truckers are watching DVDs and listening to XM and Sirrius, not scanning the 11 meter band.
Skip on the CB is really unpredictable, anyway.
Might be more effective to leave FTL CDs at truck stops?

Last time I was in UT, I heard something freedom oriented, I think it was called family round table radio. I listen for pirates when I travel.....
I set up some pirates (FM) in Orem, Provo, and AF. The Provo stick was visible from the 15 and could be heard from south Santaquin to past Lehi with about 9 watts. It was perfect.

L.A. has worse reception with DTV. The word on the street is that multipath is a bigger problem than expected with the lower power levels, and tall buildings. I see pixelation and frame loss effects. I don't know if TV uses equal sidebands but I do know that FM is playing with the idea because adjacent channel interference is worse than expected.
So, we could end up with even lower power on one sideband for the IBOC carriers on FM.

HD radio (IBOC)requires licensed technology for reception.
Subcarriers require special hardware.
Hams use PL tones for simple security.
There are plenty of scrambling and encoding systems for analog and digital.

As for RFI and plain old too much power next door problems, it can be handled like any other polution type property violation.

Lots of silence and drop outs during Declare your Independence, today. Seems like and audio source problem and not the LRN stream.

Spectrum analyzer is useful for this,                             RFB

I've seen them as low as $100 on ebay.

Just sayin, if someone wants to throw money at it, they can do some pretty cool stuff with a PC. Like processing, RDS, automation, remote control....

The Barix has become a radio industry standard for set-it-and-forget-it, IP streams. : )

2.C. Starguide, (Is LRN on there?)...Dedicated PC with pro sound card
4.B. Never over modulate, as you could potentially interfere with an adjacent channel and attract attention.
4.C. Is a little odd. More$=more Watts+ run time during an outage.

I've put up a pretty good, and more detailed, pirate radio page on libertyactivism.info
