Most biggest food in the world!

But I gots me a craving for some New Mexican chile/asado. Not easy to find down here.

Made a big pot of posole last weekend. Pretty tasty, but I too am craving some asado. I'll probably make some in the next week or two.

Cite you study? How about you go and travel the world, prick. You might learn some shit.

Dude, a tour in Iraq and 2 1/2 years in Ft. Hood don't make you a world traveler. Where did you spend the other 19 or so years that make you so much wiser than the rest of us?

Nothing against New Hampshire, but it seems to me there is a better choice for a Free State. Having lived most of my life in Texas and New Mexico (on a windy day I can spit across the border even now), I think Texas makes more sense.

You forgot the most important factor.

That really should have been at the top of list, brother.

I can tell you from my experience over seas, that the only preconception most people had about Texas is that we are all cowboys. I have found the same lack of knowledge, to put it politely, on the east coast and midwest.  Most of the people who had problems with Americans had grudges against Washington DC, not Austin. I still think your personal preferences are influencing you.  But, Texas isn't for everybody - thank the Goddess.

Thanks for the heads up on de las Casas, to whomever pointed that out. That will require some more reading.

Answer me this. Where does the ugly American stereotype come from?

From well-to-do Americans touring the world acting like they owned it. Believe it or not, they weren't all Texans.

The stereotype the WORLD has (not you, you don't matter in this situation) is Texas is the lowest common denominator of the United Stets. The stereotype isn't a nigga from Brooklyn, or some liberal tree-hugger from California, it's Texans. Get over it. The world knows Texas sucks.

Your prejudice is showing. But that is cool - when you went to Illinois the average IQ of Texas and Illinois both rose 10%.

Racism doesnt even make sense... Humans are ONE race.

Racism as its formally known today is credited to a Spanish Catholic priest (can't remember his name) and his writings on the justification of slavery. That was how the Catholic Church justified it, and the rest of Europe rolled with it.

Bartolomé de las Casas

Wrong priest. de las Casas spoke out against Spanish colonialism, the murder of the Tainu and Arawak tribes, and really pissed off the pope.

Read Lies My Teacher Told Me, by James Loewen. It has an excellent chapter on Spains rape of the New World, and covers de las Casas efforts as well.

I see a problem.

RACISM.

PRISON INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX

23% of people there think Obama is still a Muslim. (Basically, you got a lot of stupid people.)

All huge hurdles.

How do I know this? 2 1/2 years spent at Fort Hood, TX.

The racism I won't argue about. Of course, I haven't been in a state yet that I didn't see some sign of it, and having spent time in the South, Texas has nothing you won't find as bad or worse elsewhere. Have you ever been to Alabama?

Prison Industrial Complex? With Ron Paul as president of the Republic, that would change.

As far as 23% of Texans believing B.O. is Muslim, well, I suspect that falls under the category of 98% of all statistics being made up on the spot to promote an agenda.

Dude, judging the entire state based on your experiences in Ft. Hood, or the ones you met in jail is weak. (The guy with the Texas tattoo on his face was probably an Okie who lost a bet on OU and Texas). You were surrounded by criminals and soldiers - not the best and brightest, or even the average citizen.

Try this. Build your fence around New Hampshire, and around Texas, cut off trade with the US, (which is a good possibility if either were to secede) and see which one lasts longer.

1. NASA is just south of Houston , Texas We will control the space industry.

2. We refine over 85% of the gasoline in the US.

3. Defense Industry - we have over 65% of it. The term " Don' t mess with Texas ," will take on a  whole new meaning.

4. Oil - we can supply all the oil that the Republic of Texas will need for the next 300 years, no need to buy Arab oil. Yankee states? Sorry about that.

5. Natural Gas - again we have all we need and it's too bad about those Northern States. Al Gore will have to figure out a way to keep them warm. ...

6. Computer Industry - we currently lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications- - small companies like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola, Intel , AMD, Atmel , Applied Materials, Dallas Semiconductor, Delphi, Nortel, Alcatel, etc, etc. The list goes on and on.

7. Medical Care - We have the largest research centers for cancer research, the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world , as well as other large health centers. Dallas has some of the best hospitals in the United States.

8. We have enough colleges to keep us going : University of Texas , Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Rice, SMU, University of Houston , Baylor, UNT ( University of North Texas ), Texas Women 's University , etc. Ivy grows better in the South anyway.

9. We have a ready supply of workers. We could just open the border when  we need some more.

10. We have essential control of the plastics industry.

11. In case of a foreign invasion, we have the Texas National Guard and the Texas Air National Guard . We don' t have an Army, but since every body down  here has at least six rifles and a pile of ammo, we can raise an Army in 24 hours if we need one. If the situation really gets bad, we can always call the  Department of Public Safety and ask them to send over Chuck Norris and a couple of Texas Rangers.

12. We are totally self- sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs, and most types of grain, fruit and vegetables , and let's not forget seafood from the Gulf.

Of course, we wouldn't have President Obama, but Ron Paul is a Texan, and most of us would prefer him anyhow (we're sending that carpetbagger Bush back to Connecticut). The only thing we wouldn't have is mountains and snow skiing. I never understood snow skiing myself, as it seems all it is good for is getting rid of excess politicians, but there is a simple solution. We will just annex New Mexico. Ya'll would never miss it, and half of Texas spends weekends at our casinos and summers in our mountains, so it is a perfect fit.

Now to the rest of the United States under President Obama : Since you won' t have the refineries to get gas for your cars, only President Obama will be able to drive around in his big 9 mpg SUV. The rest of the United States will have to walk or ride bikes .

You won't have any natural gas to heat your homes , but since Mr.Obama has predicted global warming, you will not need the gas as long as you survive the 2000 years it will take to get enough heat from Global Warming.

Best part about it - winters are so much nicer here.

You're a Nam vet Jackson?

Nope. I had 17 days left before I was to go to Nam when they announced the withdrawal. I spent the next year and a half in South Korea instead.

Getting out of the draft twice earlier paid off, I think.

Holy crap!  You live in a zoo?

Yep. Cost me more to feed the pets than my wife and myself. Also feed a flock of doves, hummingbirds and an occasional road runner.

But, nobody sneaks up on my house.

Holy shit.

With 8 dogs, there is nothing holy about shit.

We have three and it's too much.  I don't know how you do it!

Much easier than raising kids. The dogs may shit on your floor, but will never shit on your heart.
