General / Mass. Advertising NH, ME & VT lax gun laws.

For the last five months, a 252-foot billboard near Fenway Park has been warning Boston motorists that Maine and its lax gun-control laws help supply local criminals with their weapons.

General / Busted Event; Need Help
« on: February 27, 2006, 09:48:33 PM »
My brother goes to this college in a real small town here in Iowa.  They have been having problems with the town cop.  To illustrate, he busted one girl on a possession charge.  No big deal.  A few weeks later he showed up at her house claiming that there were complaints about too many cars parked out front and asked if he could conduct a search of the house.  He kept all of them outside, in middle of the winter here in Iowa, and told them they couldn't go indoors.  Said that if they made him get a warrant they would be outside for a very long time.  When they did consent within 2 minutes half of the sheriff department was ransacking their home.  (house with a bunch of college girls living in it)

A second event involved the police bringing in a drug dog through the dorms.

So my brother is in charge of some campus group and they are going to allow me to do a presentation of the Busted video and give a quick down and dirty about Iowa laws and other info not provided in the video.  I will also be using a short book You and the Police by Boston T Party as reference.

I can think of a few areas that I need to address.

1.  How the courts view drug sweeps in college dorms
2.  How do search and seizure laws apply to a private college campus police and also security guards.

Can anyone think of anymore issues that isn't covered in the video that I should probably address?

General / BILL OF RIGHTS DAY Thur. Dec. 15
« on: December 11, 2005, 08:22:42 PM »
Yes folks, only a few short days away.

This is how I plan on celebrating this day.  I am going to make up some fliers reminding people of the significance of this day.  On that flier will be simple instructions on what to do in the event a cop wants to search you, your car or your home.

I plan on making sure that every automobile in the downtown area (right in front of the local cop shop) gets these fliers.

Of course it would be awesome if others did this same thing where you live.  It wouldn't take much time, effort or money.  Just printing costs and an hour or two putting them on windshields.

Cause you know, people will not assert their rights if they do not know what their rights are.

General / Trebucheting For Freedom.

This is kind of a combination of several interests and ideas that I have had.

As you know a trebuchet is a medieval throwing machine.  http://www.trebuchet.com/   I made a small one a few years ago with the intent on using it to launch road kill into the town jerks yard.  Yes, I have seen Monty Python more times than what is considered healthy.  The one I built was very flimsy and was good at throwing rocks into the barn and that was about it.  I wanted to build a good decent one ever since.

Well for a long time I've been wanting to have my own Tea Party.  But instead of throwing Tea into a harbour, I figure why not just throw politicians into the harbour.  Afterall, what did the tea ever do to me?  Its the politicians that are screwing me over.

And what would be better to throw a few politicians into a harbour than a trebuchet?  (There was some fool in the news a while back who died when he missed a safety net after being hurled by one in the UK.)  You would be able to chuck them pretty far out there if you had a big enough one.

So here is my idea.
1.  Build a nice big Trebuchet.  A FAT (Floating Arm Trebuchet) is the coolest one.
2.  Seek sponsorship and Sell advertising space on the side of it because we are good capitalists.
3.  Make a bunch of dumbies.  A few old suits from GoodWill Stuffed with Income Tax forms and stuff.  You can buy masks of most of the big politicians out there.  GWB, Bill and Hillary, Condi, Arnold.
4.  Mount it on a trailor and drive half way across the country in the Trebucheting for Freedom caravan.  Help advertise and spread the gospel of freedom.
5.  Have a nice protest where we launch the dumbies into the harbor, river, lake, large mudpuddle.  Have a fun festive time.
6.  have a few smaller ones which can be used to hurl cheap promotional material at the crowd.  Everyone loves a free t-shirt or hat.
7.  Party the rest of the night away.

This would be awesome because it is completely unique.  burning flags, draft cards have been done before.  Everyone does signs.  I don't think anyone has ever launched the effigy of a bunch of politicians into the harbour with a medieval seige machine before.

That's my idea.
