I wish I could show my age MORE! I get carded for fucking lottery tickets! I'm 33 goddamned years of age, and clerks ten+ years younger than me stare with incredulity at my ID, even with sideburns, facial hair and at least a three day growth around the edges. They say "well, you've found the fountain of youth!" I say, "yeah, it's a liberal serving of Vodka and cranberry juice, thrice daily." They usually chuckle, but sometimes they frown. I guess I should consider it a blessing, given all I've been through. Three heart surgeries and a whole lot more in the way of medical problems, I should probably feel lucky for looking this young, but I still resent it.

Yeah, this. See, I go through phases, sometimes I smoke 3 or 4 smokes in a day (my absolute upper limit) then I go for months without smoking at all. Years even. Then I'll pick it up again for a little while, if times are stressful, or if I'm around certain people who smoke a lot, especially if I am frequenting a certain drinking establishment where adherence to the "ban" is spotty at best. Then at some point, I've had enough, I'm not enjoying them anymore, and I quit. I can moderate it, I can pick them up or put them down whenever. It's no big deal, and it's never become a hardcore addiction for me. Which is good, considering all that heart surgery I had to have.

My dad (who lives there) tells me that Japan for the first time introduced jury trials for a limited number of civil cases, and the populace is aghast, they think that regular schmoes off the street are far too dumb to weigh these complex legal issues, and it's sponsors have met with derision and calumny wherever they go. Never underestimate the human capacity for servility or love of authority.

Joel has always been not only barely in touch with reality, but prone to gross exaggerations, deliberate mischaracterizations and outright lying. I have demonstrated time and again his proclivity to lie about me, as well as several other posters here. Anyone with whom he disagrees is a target for his malicious fabrications. He is a really terrible person, a man of very low character. And before he says so, I don't think he sucks for being Jewish, I really couldn't care less about his ethno-religious background, what I despise is his brazen dishonesty and willful, aggressive ignorance.
