I have heard another ad by the same company that lacks the "gung ho" tone, why not suggest to them that one may produce more desirable results than another? As a veteran, I found the ad to be corny and slightly offensive. I find it funny that on the show during which I was considering the ads because of this thread, there was a caller who expressed dismay at other callers who, as Ian put it, want to provide their "cred" by stating their military service. I promise to do my part to provide some financial support to the show, so that you may in the future screen your advertisers, even though such ads may continue.
I was able to check on this today. They did test another ad in some other venues and it did not test as well. It is an unfortunate fact of life that one person's offensive ad is another's attention grabbing ad. They are not using the other ad at all at this point, and will not be placing it on FTL. Why would they? FTL is one of the best venues that they have with the current ad.
Mark when you talk to advertisers do you let them know about your heavy angel bigfoot demographic?

I have caught one and keep it in my office. I have been toying with the idea of bringing it back to the states and selling it.
First of all, since this is the second most venomous scorpion in the world, what are your views about bringing it back? What if someone buys it, brings it home and is stung and dies? What if, in fact, my customer's child is killed? Am I to blame, in your view?
Secondly, how much would YOU pay for such an animal?
I am sure you could find an exotic critter dealer that might give you a decent amount of money for them as long as you get them through customs, If you want to cut out the middle man maybe you should go to an exotic pet forum and see what actual owners have to say.
If your customer ran over his kid with a car would the car salesman be to blame? People die in car accidents all the time do you think every care salesmen out there is filled with a murderers guilt?
