Makes you wonder where things will be in another 42 years if it continues like that.

Johnny lets fly with a bum trumpet.

2010 - Back in the day when laughter was still allowed, his classmates laugh. Teacher gets the class to settle down and goes on with class.

2042 - The classroom is evacuated, Johnny is charged with "Creating an unpleasant scent" or "Putrefying the air with an anal gas discharge" and sent to prison for a year. Anyone who laughs is sent to see a psychologist over a 6 month period.

If this doesn't motivate you to vote, nothing will ...

Five more days.  Keep voting!

Cool video. I threw in another vote last night. FSP car was 71 votes in the lead. Here's hoping we all get to see the black and yellow roaring around the track. Hopefully one of the free to air digital channels broadcasts it here so if all goes as we hope I'll get to see it live too.

Thanks for the responses. Yeh, I was thinking another company using your logo might fall under some sort of I.P. law or something. But then I.P. laws are another minefield. Fraud sounds about right, but I'm just wondering how you'd make the offending company accountable?

I should have been more clear about robber barons. Basically around the 1900s in America when a few people became rich and powerful and apparently used their money and power to squash competition. I've only done very light reading on it, but as near as I can understand, was that about when government started regulating the marketplace, and the reason for it?

Although I've accepted a true free market is a better system than a government run "free market", I'm still not greatly knowledgeable about all the possible pitfalls of a free market.

I'm hung up on one issue that may arise in a true free market.

Say you run a business and you're doing well. A competitor decides they want to ruin your reputation, and business, and start selling dodgy and harmful products inside packaging that is exactly the same as your own. What do you do? How would the free market combat this without intervention by government?

Also, whats to stop robber barons rising up in a free market and, apparently, making everyone's life hell?

So whats up with the PS3 AND XBOX putting out 90%+ first person shooter games? Dont they know there are sooooooo many more genres of gaming out there that people would buy if they would just make them? Dont get me wrong, I like some Battlefield 2 etc etc, but come on, you can only go so far with that model. Maybe some Risk type games, or something with a little more creativity and strategy based gaming.

What a waste of system.

I know....... "thats what PC gaming is for." but thats not a good excuse.

Unfortunately, it is kind of a good excuse. Throughout the history of consoles, platform (e.g. Mario bros, Sonic etc.) and FPS games have always been king amongst console gamers, and nothing else has really made much of an impact (if any). Although a couple of beat-em-up games (Streetfighter, Mortal Kombat etc.) have managed to shine through, its pretty much always been the FPS and platformers that always sell far better in the console game market. Thats why I have never really bothered moving away from PCs for gaming. Consoles have scored some of the great strategy and simulator games from the PC world but those just never seemed to catch on with the typical console gamer. I agree with you though, it would be great to see a much more variety of games for the consoles. It just doesn't seem to work in the console market.

I remember the atari 2600 system had something like 40 or 50 different game companies that made games for systems back then.
Back in the day of the Atari 2600 having 40+ companies developing games for it, it flooded the market and video gaming actually sort of died for a couple of years. I agree it would be good to see more video game companies, just be careful what you wish for.

Okay--we're here in beautiful Melbourne. Great place--except for the high prices of everything due to taxes. Still, the people seem well off and happy enough. Everyone is friendly and helpful. If they have any assholes in this country, I have yet to meet one.

Bought, and tried, Vegemite. Not bad. Tastes like beef bouillon paste. Healthy, and no salt. What's not to like about it?

taxes and a minimum wage of $15 an hour drives the price of everything up a bit.

DONT EAT THE VEGEMITE !!

you have been warned

Gotta try it.

Don't spread it on your slice of bread, or toast, thick. A very thin layer will suffice. Don't go trying a spoonfull of it either. it has a strong taste so less is better. Its good stuff.

Melbourne is pretty cool. If you get a chance, get out of the city and go for a long drive. The Australian countryside is breathtaking. Take the Great Ocean Road. You'll thank me later.
Never been to Melbourne, but I always hear about the Great Ocean Road. Driving that road will be one of the first things I'd do if I end up down that way.

Great story WTFK.

All I can think of at the moment is someone like Jenna Jameson is living comfortably in a very nice house, has a family (though there were troubles not so long ago) and generally seemingly good people and things in her life.

I'm renting a granny flat, barely own anything beyond a cheap little hatchback, don't have a family of my own (and probably never will) and am pretty much just surviving, and pretty much alone.

Do I feel superior? Hell no.

Although if I ever do have kids, I'll never have to worry about them and their friends seeing me banging random people in hundreds of videos splayed across the internet. Despite this, I still don't feel superior.

I give up on trying to make sense of things.

Which Amiga models?

2 A500 and a A1200.

Never got my hands on the holy grail - The A4000 but I can emulate one on winUAE so I can live with that ;)

I always liked the soccer game cartridge. Commodore Soccer or something. Its sometimes more playable than even some of the most recent soccer games.

I'm more of an Amiga nut myself. I still have 3 of them and about 5 shoe boxes full of games, all of which still works. I have WinUAE though and enjoy reliving the days of Lemmings and Lotus Turbo Challenge among others.
