Attention Fellow FSP Participants, Pre-Staters, Fellow-Travelers, Porcupines of all flavors, etc.

If you encounter a situation which is not immediately life threatening to yourself or others, and it is a situation in which you might otherwise have reported something or someone to the "authorities"--be it the Police, CPS, DEA, FBI, DHS, CIA, NSA, the Zoning Commission, the Planning Board, whatever; and you are unsure or concerned about what you should do, please do the following:

1) Stop, take a breath, and think.

2) Don't allow yourself to get pulled into an argument.

3) Do not immediately post it on FaceBook or other internet forum.

4) Call me (603.340.6654) or someone else in the Porcupine Community you know and trust, and present me (or them) with a brief sketch of the situation.

5) Discuss your options, get some perspective, and have all your "ducks in a row" as it were.

6) Then, and only then, decide on your course of action.

Again, this is in cases in which there is not immediate and life-threatening danger to you or someone else.

If there is a fire, call the Fire Department.  Yes, I know they're statist, but they're presently the only viable option.

If there is a medical emergency, call the ambulance/paramedics.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE POLICE UNLESS THERE IS EFFECTIVELY NO OTHER OPTION TO PREVENT DEATH OR EXTREME INJURY!

Hopefully, Porcupine 911 will be established soon, and a lot of this stuff can be handled by live operators who can get you assistance.  Until that time, and in the absence of other individuals and/or services, I am available for emergencies 24/7--I don't sleep much, I'm not a partier, and I am trained and experienced at dealing with all manner of situations.  For example:

I am certified in Wilderness First Aid, CPR/AED, etc.

I am a 10 year veteran of the US Army.

I am a trained Mediator (that's Non-Coercive Conflict Resolution), and have been practicing for 8 years.

I have spent the past 5 years working with "at risk" children in NH.

I am trained in Criminal and Counter-Intelligence Investigation.

I am trained in Interviewing and Interrogation, and have studied Body Language and Micro-Expressions extensively.

I've been a firearms instructor for over 20 years.

I am a trained Counselor.

I've been involved in the Liberty Movement since 1996, I joined the FSP in 2003, and I moved to NH in 2006.

I deal well with emergencies, and have had enough of them in my life that very little phases me.

Therefore, chances are I can assist you, advise you, or direct you to someone within the community who can.  If I don't know someone within the community who can assist, chances are I know someone outside the community who can safely assist you.

Please at least consider this option before you get dragged into escalating drama, post stuff on FB, or call the Government Agents.  This will make sure that the FSP is not harmed by things unrelated to it's sole purpose (i.e. getting good pro-liberty folks to NH), and will also prevent the escalations and serious drama which seem to be cropping up as of late.  I suspect folks will be a lot happier all around, and I can promise you I'll do my very best to ensure your concerns are addressed to your satisfaction.

Initial consultations are free.  Matters discussed are confidential unless and until I tell you otherwise explicitly.

Yep.  Trying to raise money to pay the attorney in MI, so we can rescue Ally from the abusive situation (and the Gooferment interference).

gonna sue the pigs too?

i would

get it put before a grand jury if possible

Since she's out of state, no one here has any "standing" to bring suit.  She could do it herself, if we could get her back to NH.

15 y/o FSP participant kidnapped by Manchester PD w/o due process, and transferred to deadbeat dad in abusive situation, and allowed her to be transported out of state.

MPD didn't confirm ID of father, didn't confirm disposition of case, didn't confer with proper NH authorities, and allowed her to be transported to Michigan without hearing or any attempt to verify facts of the case.

Father is a deadbeat who is connected to corrupt cops/judges in MI--drug dealer/tattoo artist to the cops, his wife has been repeatedly involved in abuse of children (including the one who was kidnapped).

« on: April 11, 2011, 05:52:02 PM »

Steve and CJ Maxey, and CJ's daughter from a previous marriage Ally Haystead, moved from Michigan to New Hampshire in July 2010. Steve and CJ have been married for about 10 years, and Ally is going on 16 (in September 2011). In the divorce from her previous husband, Ernie Haystead, CJ received physical Custody of Ally, and Ernie was required to pay child support, and had visitation rights.

Ernie Haystead is (based on my judgment, having looked at his records and statements online and such other sources as I could find) almost your stereotypical ignorant, uneducated, sleazy, welfare-bum. He has a rather extensive police record, a number of DUIs, and has been in and out of jail a fair bit. He also seems to be (or has been) the “Go-To Guy” for drugs and tattoos among the corrupt cops in SE Michigan. I suspect he's also an informant for the Police--that's usually the way it goes.

Haystead's wife, Tammy, has a similar history, as well as a history of child abuse. When Ally was 9, Tammy stabbed Ally in the face with a fork during a visitation, because Ally didn't eat what she was told to.

When CJ and Haystead divorced, CJ was awarded physical custody, with Haystead having visitation rights. Ally has expressed her desire NOT to visit Haystead, and CJ did not force her to visit him.

In July 2010, CJ was offered a job in NH, and she and Steve decided to move with Ally to NH. CJ consulted an attorney, who told her all she had to do was to fill out change of address forms for the court. CJ did so, and they moved to NH.

When they got to NH, CJ's job fell through, and she and Steve started working temp jobs, until CJ was recently hired on full-time by her temp agency. She and Steve and Ally have been active in the community, going to church on Sundays, Ally has been involved in activities at the public library, and they've all made a lot of new friends since they moved to NH. Steve is slated to build a forge and teach blacksmith classes, CJ's new job is working out, and they were finally beginning to get their feet under them after long difficulties in MI.

Thursday morning, while CJ was at work, 5 Manchester NH Police Officers knocked on their door, and Steve answered. He was informed that they were there to take Ally into protective custody, as she was reported as a victim of kidnapping. They showed Steve a print out from a web page which had an old photo of Ally on it, and which claimed she had been kidnapped by her mother and “an adult male.” They also flashed some document signed by a judge in MI, and told him Ally would be put into foster care in NH, until there was an extradition hearing. Steve, not wanting to make things worse for Ally, didn't resist them in any way, and answered all their questions.

Steve called CJ at work to tell her what had happened, and CJ called me. I put them in contact with Attorney Seth Hipple, who proceeded to call the Manchester Police Department in an attempt to find out what was going on, and where Ally was. He was stonewalled, and told no one could answer his questions until the next day.

Friday morning, Seth again began attempting to determine Ally's location and the disposition of the case. He was constantly stonewalled, questioned as to whether or not he actually was an attorney, and even repeatedly hung up on. On the way to a meeting with Attorney Hipple, CJ was informed that Ally had been turned over to Haystead by the Manchester Police, and had transported her out of state, and was flying her to MI.

Attorney Hipple was able to determine what happened to Ally only after the Manchester Police knew she was out of NH—at which time he was no longer able to assist Steve and CJ. He did manage to put them in contact with an attorney in MI, and to brief in that attorney. Attorney Hipple generously did not charge CJ and Steve for this assistance.

SO, as things stand now, Ally is in the custody of Haystead in MI. She was seen by her older sister when she got into MI, who says she was scared and unhappy and had an upset stomach and hives, but was otherwise “safe” at present.  Haystead is essentially holding her incommunicado, and has posted on Ally's Facebook wall his (extremely badly written and misspelled) refutation of CJ & Steve's account.

It turns out that the advice CJ received from the attorney when she was moving was incorrect or incomplete, and under MI law, she was required to beg for permission from the court to be allowed to move out of state.

Sometime in January, Haystead pulled some sort of legal maneuvers, and managed to start legal custody procedings and the court did not inform CJ via the address she had sent in on the change of address forms, but rather sent the notices to an old address which did not forward mail. Then, when CJ did not appear, they awarded full custody of Ally to Haystead (despite his readily apparent lack of fitness and the patently unsafe environment). Then, Haystead reported Ally as kidnapped to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and some of his police friends pushed it through on their end.

Somehow, Haystead managed to enlist the cooperation of the Manchester Police Department, apparently without going through any other NH Authorities. They also did not consult (again, as far as we can tell) any NH Authorities.  They didn't ask Haystead for any identification, nor did they bother to call any authorities in MI to check the veracity of his story--they simply took his word for it, along with a printout from the NCMEC website and a piece of paper with a MI judge's name on it.

CJ and Steve are consulting with an attorney in MI, who has his work cut out for him. As of the last we've heard, the prosecutor in MI has not yet decided whether or not to bring charges of kidnapping against CJ and possibly Steve. The hope is that the custody ruling can be reversed, or at least appealed and thus achieve a change of venue. The MI attorney needs a retainer of $2500 to get things started, and wants another $1500 in 30 days, and projects the ultimate expenses to be approximately $5000.

Please help us raise the money to pay the attorney, so CJ and Steve can get Ally back safe.

Do we really want Ian and Mark to waste their time itemizing their expenditures of AMP money?

I personally trust them to spend it as they think best--I certainly am not in a position to know what the best use of those funds for promoting FTL.

I went to Government Schools, and they made me insane.  Literally.  I graduated a year early, and joined the Army.  So after being driven insane by the Government Schools, I spent 10 years killing people and breaking things for Uncle Shithead.  However, I started reading Heinlein while I was in the Army, and I was always a big reader of anything I could get my hands on, and between Heinlein and some other things I started reading, I gradually cured myself for of my insanity.

If it's at all possible, get your kid out of the Government Schools.  The Government Schools aren't broken--they're doing exactly what they're supposed to do--and that isn't education, it's indoctrination.  They are supposed to make people insane and dependent.  They're supposed to make sure people can't think for themselves, so they will follow orders and be easy to control and predict.  The founders of the system were quite open in their writings about this intent--read Horace Mann and his contemporaries.  Read John Dewey.

How about adding another answer to the poll: "Yes, and I don't care if other folks wear clothes or not (but I'll be wearing mine because I don't want to be responsible for blinding others)"

This may have gotten lost in the spewing of this thread, or I may have forgotten to ask it.  Either way I'm not going back to find out.  What about the Libertarian politicians?  Are they still evil?

Well, let's say that they are, in an attempt to reduce the evil of the system, assisting the system in propping up the image it has (undeservedly) of legitimacy.  If you believe that good intentions excuse bad results, then even the non-Libertarian politicians can claim they only did what they did because they had good intentions.  If, on the other hand, you believe (as I think most who subscribe to the non-aggression principle do) that your intentions, while it may be all well and good to know what they were, are unimportant when it comes to assessing whether or not you are responsible for harm--no one has the right to intiate force against another for any reason..

Thus, the Libertarian politicians ARE guilty, if to perhaps a lesser degree than other politicians.  But they are guilty, nonetheless.  The idea of "working within the system" is seductive.  But you can't reform a death camp by cleaning up the records and repainting the barracks, and making the guards be polite as they herd the victims into the gas chamber.  Nor do you end the evil by reducing the number of victims killed by 70%.  It's still wrong.  Is it better than nothing?  Perhaps.  But it's still wrong.  The proper thing to do is to stop the killing altogether, and punish those who operated the death camp, as well as those who ordered its establishment in the first place.

One of the reasons a common thief, rapist, or murderer is morally superior to a politician (at least, a statist politician) is that at least they don't try to convince you that what they're doing to you is Right and Good (not to mention the fact that they usuaully don't keep coming back to do it to you over and over again).  The Libertarian politician is putting himself in the place of saying: "I don't WANT to rape you and steal your wallet every payday, but if I want to be in a position to reduce the theft to every third payday, and the rape to sexual assault and a drink, then I HAVE to rape you a little bit and take your wallet right now."

It was when I finally ran out of excuses and realized that, that I stopped voting and running for office.  I don't want to rape anyone, or steal from them, at all--not even one little bit.  And if it's necessary that I be uncomfortable, and have to work harder, and plan more carefully and think about things a lot more, so be it.

That being said, I don't claim that I am a perfect follower of the non-aggression principle.  I still make the odd slip now and then--but they are rare, they are small in scope, and I own up to them, take responsibility, and offer restitution--even to those who do not follow the non-aggression principle themselves.  It gets me looked at funny, and talked about, but it also allows me to shave with a mirror, rather than having to do it by touch and guess-work.

you do not know *all* the politicians; hence, if all those that you know are anti-freedom, it is still possible for one of the unknown politicians to be pro-freedom.

You misunderstand--how can a POLITICIAN, who is, by definition, not only an agent of GOVERNMENT, but actually a DIRECTOR of Government, which is an entity BASED on initiatory force, be INNOCENT of the initiation of force?

While I know you (I'm assuming here) want to give credit to the rare exceptional sort of politician like Ron Paul, and while I personally wouldn't put someone like him up against the wall come the Revolution, I have to say that even he is not free of responsibility.  Even he compromises the principle, and subsists on stolen money, and props up the false aura of government legitimacy.

As I said, I recognize the vast difference between such as Ron Paul and the rest of the class of politicians, nevertheless, strictly speaking, it applies to him too.  Again, I'm not reserving any rope for him, and for my part, I'd definitely grant him an amnesty, but the amnesty would still be necessary, IMO.

However likely it is that a politician is anti-freedom, statistical probability does not make a member of a group the same as everyone else in the group.

Be careful about that.  While it is not valid to claim that all members of a group based on involuntary characteristic are "the same" (e.g. skin color, sex, national origin, etc.), it MAY be valid if group membership is based on a voluntary characteristic.  So, if we say "all murders are people who've killed someone" that is completely valid--it's part of the very definition of the class, i.e. "Murderers."  And thus, if we say that a group of people who are grouped by their having successfully joined the group of people who use the false-legitimacy of government for the purposes of utilizing institutionalized initiatiatory force in order to grab power for themselves in order to do the same, the generalization DOES hold, albeit perhaps to different degrees (e.g. the town councilman usually engages in little more than petty theft, whereas the Feral GovGoon makes grand larceny a matter of daily routine).

Anyone who initiates aggression has waived their right to be free from aggression.

I'm hoping to move to NH before Porcfest 06--I'm looking for a job now, and as soon as I have a job I'm moving.

I'm a member of Ian's First 1000--do I win something from FTL if I move before Ian does?  :D
