Without glasses (I apologize for my cheezy photoshopping skills, but I had to be looking at SOMETHING)

With glasses and my son.

I have run out of contacts indefinitely.

Hot.

As is his mom. :)

I workout, a lot. I actually enjoy being sore. :)

I have seen the infomercial on these things and it looks like a really good concept. The body is incredibly adaptive to any sort of exercise that you put it through on a regular basis. The way they change the exercises up will cause your body to go into shock and have to build new muscle. However this shock factor, and method comes with a price...pain. But the pain is a good thing, it means you are making progress. We used to do something similar to this for land workouts when I used to row in college. Unfortunately, I had to make weight so I could not get as big as I wanted to back then.

You should not give up on this program. You will have success with it as long as you stick with it. The key to any program is consistency, and you should not let yourself take any days off unless it is allowed by the program. As far as stopping mid way through a workout, my advice to you would be to take a break, but ALWAYS finish the workout. When you quit and don't finish, you tell your mind that it is ok to stop before you are done, and that mindset will seep through to you not finishing the program. However if you take a 10 min break and finish the workout it will translate to you finishing what you start. And you will have a higher likelihood of making it the 90 days. Seriously, the mind is really what you have to strengthen, not the body. Once the mind is strong the body follows without much effort.

Thanks for the pep talk.  My only thing with finishing the work-out was that it's an hour long and I was running out of time.  I can't go as quickly as them on the plyometrics part - my muscles seriously just give out - and by the time I was completely exhausted, I didn't have time to take more breaks and continue.  That, plus I have a 4-year-old who was trying to play with Optimus Prime under my nose.  It's not optimum, but with my work schedule, really the only time I have to exercise is in the morning while he's up and about.

Anyway, I do intend to keep with it regardless.  I have a goal to lose 25 more lbs by the time I'm 30 and I'm going to use this as a catalyst.

Anyone heard of this? Anyone who has done it?

I did my first work-out tonight.  It's 90 days of torture, but I'm apparently going to be hot and skinny afterwards.

Conversely, how do you feel about downloading dvds for *ahem* free?

This is, oddly, the fourth time today I've seen myself commenting on such things.

I personally don't care how people get their media.  There are methods to prevent large-scale piracy.  I've subscribed to subscription websites before, and they are very difficult to crack for common people.  When you subscribe, you get all sorts of bennies that pirates don't.  If these people wanted to protect their media, they should stream it with an expiration code in it.  I could buy it and physically hand it to you, and it would be exactly the same result:  you got it for free.  The only difference is, the guy who handed it to you exists further away than the length of your arm.

Anyway, it seems like a fuckin' rough workout.  Muscle confusion, they call it.  Yeah, I trigged onto that concept before.  Thats why guys who work on roofs are slabs of muscle.  They bend in all different directions all day long.  I've always preferred that method, even though I don't exercise much.  I think it makes a more sculpted build, rather than actual bodybuilding or weight training.

Yeah, today I did the second day and I couldn't finish it.  I'm just going to keep chugging along and hopefully I'll manage to lose weight in the process.
