It sounds like a great way to eat. Especially since avocados are okay. I went to the doctor this year to have her bitch at me to lose weight (I'm 5'7" and 140, what the hell) and get my blood glucose and cholesterol down. I might have to give this a crack.

How do you congratulate a guy who just passed his last kidney stone?

With a beer, if he's so inclined. I'm sure he'd be relieved to never speak of it again.

I'm going classy tonight. I'm drinking a sweet red called Malvira Birbet from Italy. Earlier, I had Pacific Rim Riesling Vin de Glaciere, which is tasty like an ice wine, but about half the price.

Guns, Drugs, and Crazy Independence Stuff / Re: Halloween!

I used to like Halloween too, I suppose. I used to really look forward to setting up the spooky decorations with my mom and get dressed up and so forth, but now it's just another day, sort of. I'm headed home this year to see the family, and I've been dreading it since I clicked the purchase button for the ticket. I still enjoy it more than Christianity's appropriating of the winter solstice, but I'm largely indifferent these days. (However, that's not going to stop me from getting dressed up and having beers!)

I'm watching the MST3K episode/movie "Boggy Creek II". Ever since I moved to Minnesota the show has become much more funny.

I mean, if you are using one of those words with malicious intent and you really are a racist, you suck.

I wholeheartedly second this.

All of that seems perfectly reasonable to me.

You want to know where your visitors went?

I disagree. I posted here for a few years, and I just got sick of the static. I regularly post and read other forums. I'd love to come back to the BBS. I'm friends with several members on Facebook but, as it's been expressed elsewhere in the thread, I like the conversation-like nature of the threads and the capacity to keep them going for long periods of time.

He hasn't really done anything really bad. He's annoying, but was this BBS in the habit of banning annoying people?

A few NASCAR personalities lend their voices to the movie. I love that film.

Someone who has retired from their job and then became a student, I'd guess?

I'm having Santa Cruz Organic limeade.

Thanks for the advice. We've decided to leave most of our furniture here. Most of it is just college kid shit that isn't worth moving. All of our utilities except electric and internet are paid for, so those are the only things we have to set up. Thank goodness. There are any number of Walmarts, Targets, and an Ikea around, so there is no reason to take crap furniture with us. I hear Minneapolis is a great city, and I'm ready to let all this stress go and enjoy starting a new life.

So, I'm about 11 days away from leaving Idaho for Minneapolis. I have a job and a place to live. We're not taking a car with us. I'll be living with my boyfriend of two years, and I'll be working while he goes to law school. (Not supporting him though, we split things down the middle). We're in the process of packing, and we're taking either a van and trailer or a U-haul truck with our stuff there. Is there anything I can do to make our move easier? Some hint or trick that someone has found that makes moving less stressful? Should I take furniture or leave it? And how the hell do I ensure that my vinyl record collection doesn't get warped en route?
