The Show / Re: Less Stephanie, Please

I really don't understand all this anti-stephanie talk.
What "famminazi" talk? She hates white people?
Where are you guys getting this?
Perhaps you could list some quotes referring to the exact times in podcasts where she speaks in the annoying manner you speak of.

I have always enjoyed listening to her. I find her very intelligent and insightful, and her voice is quite pleasant.

Maybe some of these stephanie haters are just guys who are threatened by intelligent women.

The Polling Pit / Re: Is Scott "the Bigot" - For Real?
« on: December 06, 2011, 08:23:39 AM »
I'm 99% sure scott is for real.
point #1:
I don't think he is actually part of any of those racist groups. I think his racist views come from living a very sheltered life in which he inherited his narrow view from a racist family.

point#2:
He may be able to speak fine, but he's more of a broken record, always returning to the same point. Which could be a sign of a lack of communication skills.

point #3:
He could have some kind of a mental disorder, handicapping his emotional depth. Which would also explain his racist view, someone with more of an emotional capacity is less likely to be so narrow & racist.

point #4:
Someone with such social and emotional handicaps is more likely to live a very sheltered life.

point #5:
This may his emotional response missing in point #3. Instead of an outburst, he just shuts down. Also sometimes people who are challenged, like scott, 'lock up' and go blank when 'put on the spot' and questioned.

point #6:
I'm not exactly sure which caller you are talking about, but I do vaguely recollect someone similar sounding. But in my life I have come across many people with a similar accent. Scott has a fairly common accent for the north east US. But this point is the only 'chink' where I'm only 99% sure.

IMO Scott suffers from some kind of developmental disorder, which doesn't reduce his actual intelligence, but handicaps his emotional and social abilities. I have a particular disorder in mind, but I don't want to give others with the same disorder a bad image by associating scott with them. He has probably never lived away from home, and had very few if any real friends. On one hand I pity him, but on the other hand he's really annoying. What he needs is really intense therapy. He is a un-well person.

If it has more than 4 limbs, or an exoskeleton.... IT MUST DIE!!!

Let the war of the vertebrates vs the invertebrates rage on.
Give it a slow and cruel death... muahahahahaha.....
Put 1/8" nitric acid in the bottom of the container it is being kept in.

Bonus points: Provide a youtube video of it's demise.

The Polling Pit / Re: Do You Play Video Games???
« on: July 03, 2011, 01:52:55 AM »
I've been part of the original video game generation since 1981 when I got my Atari 2600.
Combat, Breakout, Asteroids, Missile Command, Pac-Man (remember that cheesy 2600 version, nothing like real pac-man?)
That was back in the days when video games didn't even have a pause button. I played Missile until my butt actually fell asleep on me.

I spent most of the 80's as a teenager hanging out in video arcades at the mall.
I even worked on a few games in the 90's (Tonka construction, Virtual Springfield, a "Gen-13" comic based game that never got released)

To be honest I find passive entertainment like movies & TV really boring.

These days I spend most of my gaming time playing Lord of the Rings Online or Minecraft. I played a little Fallout3:New vegas recently, but it's kinda empty and boring. I'm looking forward this fall to Skyrim & Star Wars: Old republic.

I like games of all kinds. Even simple ones like windows solitare.

Video games are for all ages. Even my 68 year old mom spends tons of time on mahjong & solitare. I hear the sound effects in the background when I call her. My sister is 47 & her husband is 49,  I frequently join them in quests in Lord of the Rings Online.

It's nice to see there are a couple others who can appreciate the sight of some nice crystalline buds.

There are the folks who totally despise weed and talk smack about potheads.
There are the folks who don't care for weed, but respect anothers right to choose what they put in their own body.
There are folks who may even on occasion partake, but can take it or leave it.
There are also folks who smoke weed on a regular basis, but keep it within "responsible" limits.

Then there are the folks who weed just plugs into that spot in their brains. It WORKS for them, and it works well. Weed is GOD to them, every other means of mental alteration pales by comparison. The sight of a sticky bud makes their mouth water. We may be looked down upon and shunned by some, but we don't care! WE LOVE WEED!, end of story.

Yes, I am "fishing", I am trying to see if there are others out there like me, who think cannabis is the greatest thing life has to offer. And if you are not one of those people, maybe this thread is not for you. Go somewhere else and enjoy your putrid alcohol or your boring "clean" lifestyle.

I'm looking for the true stoners here.
The ones who do find the sight of a sticky cannabis bud a very pleasant sight.

Thanks for participating with the photos, those who understand.

This isn't suspicious at all.

suspicious? what prompted you to make that sarcastic comment?
What is suspicious here? If you have an accusation to make, make it.
What are you paranoid of?

I just wanted to make bud pics equivalent of excellent breasts.
Pictures of weed are not illegal.

I remember before I foolishly went to rehab and thought i'd life that bullshit 12 step life, I'd travel the planes of heightened awareness. I'd see the deeper meaning in everything. I'd feel feel more connected, more at peace. Creativity flowed like a river. Insight at my fingertips. DAMN the "sober" people I KNEW where the UFO's landed, and I had telepathic contact with animals.
I F'n MISS weed! Come back to me mary jane, with your flowing orange hair, and your sparkling crystal sheen. You know I am your servant... always!

Weed lovers everywhere, rejoyce!, and damn the haters.

General / Re: decrim vs legalization
« on: June 19, 2011, 06:13:07 AM »
Yeah, as a plant, weed grows really easy.
But if someone wants to grow GOOD weed, they are going to need some skill, and also investment in a proper growing setup.

Anyhow the current status on 'decrim' is only the decrim of possession. The decrim of growing and selling isn't going to happen.

The only hope with the existing government structure is some kind of legalization. The tax hungry politicians are NOT going to ever just say "ok grow & sell weed, we don't want a cut"... that's just a pipe dream.

Being realistic is allowing the dickhead tax hungry politicians have their cut and let people open up legit grow operations & pot shops. So that the cannabis trade can get out of the hands of the douchebags and into the hands of decent business people.

Only people who have reliable dealers or good situations for growing want decrim.
And to repeat myself, decriminalization of the growing and selling of pot just isn't going to happen... ever.
Whoever believes in that is living in a fantasy land.

Things is, as long as government exists, a fully decrim environment where people can grow & sell without penalty will never exist.

With any existing government, weed needs to be "legalized" for businesses to be brave enough to openly sell & grow.

And sadly, I don't think government will ever go away. There will always be asshole wanting to impose their will upon everyone else, therefore there will always be government.

So I say, ok, fine give the assholes a cut and let people sell their weed. It's better then the way things are right now.

And this "medical" shit is just a sidetrack where people need to make up some kind of a "condition" so that they can get their weed.
Fuck the medical route, it just makes getting weed another pain in the ass. It doesn't improve conditions for stoners.

Though I do agree that decriminalization of cannabis is a step in the right direction,
It still doesn't solve the problems inherent with the black market of cannabis.

In a decrim environment, you still have to deal with some flakey dude and whatever strain he happens to have on hand.

In an environment of legalized cannabis, businesses would be much more willing to set up and sell a wide selection of cannabis (and possibly edibles) with established business hours.

For me, full legalization is the way to go!!! Yeah, there might be some B.S. tax structure involved and regulations, but it's more than worth it to be able to just run down to the "pot shop" and get some weed, rather than make the phone calls and wait for "the dude" to be home (whenever he is), and just settle for whatever he has on hand. Not to mention prices in a fully legalized environment are likely to be better.

What are your thoughts?
