General / Re: What Video Games Are You Currently playing?

Android Games:  Tap Fish, Contract Killer: Zombies.  Mac Game:  Every few months I work on my character on the Open Source MMORPG Deliantra.  That is an extremely involved game based on Crossfire but has so much content that it is very difficult to get to it all.  I've got a character that I work on every few months that has a billion and a half experience points and I'm only at lvl 80.  But I'm at the 101st position on the high score chart, so basically I need to get a life.

Reality TV is really easy to make.  You don't need to devote a lot of money for good writing talent.  Don't need to devote a lot of money to hiring good actors.  Don't need to devote much money to production.  I'm sure SGU was an expensive show to make.  Don't need to devote a lot of money to building an alien ship with a reality TV show.  I think they might put out a SGU TV movie or two but I wouldn't expect much.

Why would they need to reboot the series though?  They can go in so many ways with it.  Just go to a different galaxy altogether.

I hear they are trying to make another BSG series set during the cylon war.

With V my main complaint is that it has been too slow.  They need to stop trying to be clever and show all this sneaky undercover crap and just get it on.   OH, what do the Vs really want?  I wonder?   I wanna see lizard people who eat humans and rats and a fucking resistance.  Lets see some action .... and boobies.

You are so right about reality TV.  The problem with it is that with the exception of a few shows, like biggest loser for example, maybe survivor and dancing with the stars, since they are game shows, it does nothing but show the worst human behavior imaginable.  The vast majority of Reality TV is mindless drivel that does nothing but make kids act bad.  I don't know, but it just makes me lose hope for humanity.

Anyhow, yes, they are making yet another BSG prequel.  Caprica was just starting to get good, and they went and cancelled that one too.  And that one had some really good acting in it, although I could have used a little less of the drama with Eric Stoltz's wife.  I guess we will never get to finish seeing the origin of the Cylons.

Yeah, V is going to slow.  I bet that that one gets cancelled before they can finish it off, too.

There are ten more episodes they haven't aired yet.

Yeah, I'm getting them in HD via itunes.  I am not going to watch syfy anymore.  There is nothing on that channel but men in tights, indiana jones meets moonlighting type shows such as warehouse 13 and Eureka, and Sanctuary, which really hasn't been really good since the webisodes.  I'm crossing my fingers for V, but It wasn't that great to begin with.  Besides, it's going up against the Biggest Loser, and with Rulan Gardner (He won the gold medal in the olympics for greco roman wrestling a few years back) blowing up to over 400 pound and the 500+ pound guy being on that show at the same time, I don't think
that it stands a chance.

There is hope on the horizon.  The producers and writers are trying to find some way to finish the story.  Maybe some smart Channel such as AMC could pick it up.  I mean, they were smart enough to put on stuff like Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and The Walking dead.  All we need is to finish the story.  Otherwise, if they decide to continue the Stargate series in the future, what happens, a re-boot?  That will alienate any of the fans.  At least Enterprise had a proper finale, no matter how crappy the finale was, but they were able to finish it.  Even firefly was able to properly end with the Serenity movie.

I'm just sick of these Network suits who don't think about anything but the bottom line canceling the smart shows and keeping the crappy, mindless shows. I mean seriously, how much reality TV can you put out there.  And people wonder why TV is losing people in droves?

Max Abramson, displaying a special kind of "class"
http://www.wmur.com/news/26260814/detail.html

FWIW, he got himself ejected from the NHLA earlier this year -- for, among other things, claiming to speak on behalf of the organization (which he's not authorized to) and making threatening statements to various public figures.

Drama King.

So Ian is getting thrown in the klink?

SGU was cancelled.  It's depressing.  That's the only reason I have cable.  I just got rid of my DVR and Cable subscription.  There are no more space based sci fi shows on TV.  After 17 seasons, the Stargate franchise goes out with an unresolved cliffhanger.  This sucks.  At least I can do other things with my time.

WHAT???       No Mark's Lumathin??    :P

Seriously though, like dragline said, fish oil, green tea, red wine, anything with omega 3 oils and antioxidants allows you to eat more red meat without the exploding heart thingy going on. I'm "sorta" skinny but my triglycerides and other bad choloesteral levels were kinda high for a 40 yr old and the doc wanted to put me on some high $$$$ shit that I would always have to take. Instead I went the natural route and kept eating all the same high fat foods I always ate, but took the above stated stuff regularly. Next visit the levels were down and the doc said "have you changed your diet?" Told him what I was taking and he said "oh yeah, that works too"   WTF?

Eggs have high omega 3's.  Just eat them in moderation.

It felt like they were trying to do Battlestar Galactica or Star Trek - the shit one with captain Janeway. The trying to get back home to earth theme is a well trod path. Why hasn't anyone done a Moon is a Harsh Mistress show or a colonize the planets in our solar system show? The one thing I don't like about sci fi shows is they usually tend to think it needs to be set 30 freaking million light years away to be fun. I didn't mind SG Atlantis. On the topic of sci-fi TV, I really liked Taken. I can't wait for the second season of V.

V wasn't as good as it could have been.  But I am going to give it another shot.

Watched the first several episodes, then stopped. Couldn't make myself give a rat's ass what happened to the crew members.

I watched an episode from this season last week - background video while working on a project. "Visitation" drew me in. I had very little idea what was going on, couldn't remember much about the characters from the beginning of the series, but I got caught up in the story. May give the series another try.

I really liked both of the other SG series. I wasn't glad to see either of them canceled when they were, but agree that SG-1 had run it's course. It was a good time to end it. As for SGA, I was enjoying getting to know more of the backstory of the vilains and about that portion of the universe - and very happy to see Jewel Staite added to the cast - but it was not a surprise to see SyFy end it.

You should watch the episodes time, space, justice, darkness, Light, divided, faith, subversion, incursion 1 and 2, then pretty much every episode from season 2 so far.  The show is really getting good.  That mid season finale is a great cliffhanger.  Besides, with justice and space, along with the dreater good, you get to see young lay the smackdown on Rush.  This show is pretty much the only reason I still have TV.  Once it's done, so is my cable subscription.

This is my 4th favorite show on. (SGU, breaking Bad, Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy).

I did not see the season finale coming, let me tell you.  I am not sure what is going to happen next year, but I can't wait.

KREE!

I have always been a huge Stargate fan, all series. I like SGU and of course watch the show religously, but I still get pissed knowing they kicked SG1 and Atlantis for this. SG1 sure, it was in its tenth season and honestly could of been done after season 8, the Ori just annoy me.

But Atlantis? We were finally getting to know more about Wraith culture, we had amazing episodes, and c'mon, they had friggin ASGARDS! EVIL Asgards! In the Pegasas galaxy! How the fuck do you end a season with such an amazing last season? And fucking Todd, he is cooler than Rodney or even Doctor Feldger.

But I digress....

SGU is awesome, especially since they can finally get past setting up the characters background. But have we even found out what the hell happened to Grear before episode 1? There were some major event this season so far, and it looks like they still have a lot to do. I expect a return of the blue aliens, and of course we still need to find out more about the aliens in the mid season finale. There's also those godly powered aliens which I hope doesn't turn into BSG again...

Personally, I'd like more look into Destiny. Now that Rush has everyone's help, it should be easier to look into the rest of the ship. And of course I'm always secretly hoping for some kind of mention of the Furlings....
SGA was cancelled because sy fy did not want to renew it for some stupid reason.  SG-1 was running it's course, and Atlantis was starting to get pretty old.  Yeah, the Wraith stuff was pretty cool, but the episodes were starting to get boring...  A Plant growing out of Keller?  A little bug that grows inside your head? An alternate reality where the wraith make it to earth and Sheppard is a cop?  Wormhole drive?  C'mon.

The thing about Greer was mentioned in the episode darkness where he insulted Telford for something.  As far as the Blue Aliens go, I'm not so sure.  Those Aliens are a few Galaxies or so behind them, unless they are the ones responsible for the drone ships that Destiny is being attacked by, I really doubt we will see those again.

If I remember correctly, the whole Furlings thing was an inside joke.  We will never see them, at least not in SGU.  The Furlings are extinct, just like the Ancients and the Asgard.

The God like Aliens are more likely responsible for the Big Bang more than anything in SGU, and according to the producers, they have a 5 year plan to get there.  I am just hoping for a third season because ever since the boneheaded move to Tuesday Nights, the Ratings are not there.  Why the Sy fy would put a wrestling show show on it's network when wrestling has nothing to do with science fiction is beyond me...  but hey, it gets the ratings, right?

Well, do you?

That Season 2 mid-season finale was off the chain.  This show, although a little slower in pace and darker in tone than both SG-1 and SGA, in my opinion, is much better.  This is what voyager should have been.  The effects are amazing, the acting by the likes of Robert Carlyle, Ming Na, Lois Ferreira, and the rest is impeccable for a Science Fiction show.  It's WAY better than the re-imagining of BSG.

The whole literally solar powered million year old ship with the capacity to mess with people's minds is awesome.  And the mission that was was revealed is very interesting.

So, has anyone watched it?

Dragline, are you *seriously* bragging about having to get a government license to do your job?   :?

Yeah, other than driving, licenses are for sissies.

It's the people who bring smiles and laughs to people's faces.

I smile and laugh every time I flush and the poop goes down the hole. Of course, I am easily entertained and rather childish.

LOL

you know why they require licensing for SKILLED trades, jackass?
because plumbing & electricity are REQUIRED necessities in a developed country, and only capable TRADESMEN are allowed to install said systems.
balloons?
not so much.
that's why lackluster, no-talent, bottom-feeding simpletons become mimes, govt. employees or balloon-blowing douchebags.
balloons? come-fucking-on already.
your parents must be so proud.

What is your problem?  You actually need talent to make art.  To be a plumber, not so much.  Other than leaky pipes and new construction, all you do if fix toilets and drain the shit that I dump in the toilet.  Just join the Union and become one of the lemmings doing the same thing over and over again.  Only losers who can't make it to college and can't learn stuff like physics and advanced math, proper grammar or art become plumbers.  Doesn't take much.  As a matter of fact, ANYONE can be a plumber.  Just take a few correspondence courses, wear you pants a little low so you can show off the crack in your ass when you bend over, and that's about it.

How does that feel?  You are a piece of work, you know that?  You haven't come up with anything rembling an intelligent argument since you started insulting me.

FYI I have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, and several Microsoft and Apple certifications.  I left the computer industry ten years ago because I got tired of working for someone else and dealing with people who don't know what they are doing with a computer, and I make a lot more money entertaining people on TV, cable TV and Latin TV(Local TV, Discovery Channel,  and Univision, yes I am bilingual, more than can be said about someone who can't even form a proper sentence).  On top of that I just got accepted to get my 2nd degree in business.  I've also turned down mensa because the organization reminds me of people like you.  A bunch of talentless, holier than though idiots.  At least they have a brain, though.

But alas, I'm getting bored with this conversation.  It hasn't changed since we got started.  You are now officially blocked.  Have fun cleaning other people's toilets, cause the way you are going, that's all you will amount to.

Toodleoo!
