General / Changing delegate minds.. Questions..
« on: February 09, 2012, 08:12:34 AM »
If there is anyone who knows this please explain.. The states which have primary delegates that are not binded to vote a particular presidential candidate; what is to stop supporters from focusing on changing the minds of just the delegates before their final vote?

In other words : What is stopping Ron Paul supporters from stealing the whole show by finding out who the other candidates delegates are and focusing on these few people (instead of the millions of masses) and convincing them to vote for Ron??

Speech by Robin Koerner:

Blue Republican

Worth spreading to liberals etc. I've been following this guy's stuff since he converted from a serious 'bleeding heart liberal' to Ron Paul libertarian. He has advanced in understanding very fast, it's only taken him about 7 months to get this far along. ..I'll forgive him for a little minarchist Constitution humping..

In my opinion.. Once a person accepts institutionalizing violence initiation (government) is wrong and empowering it is wrong; then they should advocate 100% dismantling of government or they are a part of the problem.
So, if you pay taxes, you  are a part of the problem.

Who cares what someone "advocates"? Talk is cheap.

Eh.. I see your point but I don't necessarily agree with it. That's basically just withholding consent, with an added bonus of cage.
Unless it influences other people to hate statism..

If everyone stopped paying taxes the government would just print money.

If everyone stopped using fiat currency.. That's a bit different.

If I had a lot of influence and I turned 10 minarchists through "advocation" the ripple effects of those 10 people could be quite large;  who's to say that's not worth more than withholding some weaksauce amount of money from the government.

Now if I was Bill Gates withholding taxes...

Rather or not governments are inevitable is not a reason to advocate government. It's akin to advocating random theft or violence because they are inevitable to happen within a sufficiently large human society.

A person can theorize their whole life about about warring security agencies and mobs attempting to gain power; the point is : what they are responsible for is not theoretical, it is not theoretical to actively empower or advocate violence initiation.

Hayek, Menger, Mises, and others all did scathing works on the principles of communism and syndicalism. The reason there isn't a definitive guide: I asked a George Mason economist and professor about 'these syndicalist guys'. His response, "Don't worry about those guys. It's nonsense. Nothing new; same errors and irrationality that's been discredited for over 100 years.

Discredited yes but new kids keep getting sucked in with every new generation at a rate that seems to be near the levels of the "free market" liberty movement.

get ahold of yourself, hawk......
and i know i'm gonna come off as some smarmy 'kent-kuntette''
but , it's ''falling apart at the S-E-A-M-S'', ..........nigga
you lose a certain element of the think-tank amongst us, when you misspell your thread title......

*as i sit back in my smoking jacket, taylor-fladgate 20 yr. tawny in one hand, grandfather's pipe whispering a soft mist of cavendish black from my other........ i chuckle lowly at the ''enter'' button on my computer, satisfied that i have cut the legs from under thy opponent.....
with a simple....click....

Haha thanks I'll admit I'm not the greatest speller. Though, I know how to spell "seams". But I didn't even notice the misspelling. *fixed*

A "natural right" is really only a descriptor of what you are rationally justified in having and protecting without being the one to cause a conflict.

And a natural law therefore is merely a concept that if followed by everyone in precise terms there would be no conflict.

And if the purpose of a law is to reduce problems between humans..

Who enforces the law?

Of course if we respected the same "rights" of plants, animals and bugs we would have to remain perfectly still and die from starvation..

15
And you didn't earn your liberty; it's yours and others infringe upon it.

So if someone infringes upon your liberty, does it still exist?

You only have what you are willing to prevent others from taking from you.

In a manner this is true..

However that's not the point to "natural rights"..
