Isnt $ a generic symbol for money, where the double strike-through denotes U.S. currency?

Thank you for stopping by. It was a great opportunity to meet a lot of people we might not have otherwise.

As for the travelling whorehouse concept, maybe next year, we'll have opaque walls on the pavilion so everyone can't see how much really goes on in there.

If you stopped by Sexy Coffee, you met me this year. Though, I am a resident now...

Serious Business / Re: Cataclysmic interactions with the state.

I actually had a lot of events in small towns in Oklahoma that made me believe in the state at the time. My family was heavily involved in drugs and so the police were constantly coming around. I thought my family was morally corrupt and wrong, so I actually approved of the police hauling off a drunk stepfather, detaining a violent, destructive brother, and seizing a vehicle a family member had been caught driving drunk and recklessly getting into accidents in. They also let me off several times for traffic violations because they weren't complete dicks.  Despite all of that, I still came out on the liberty side of the equation and recognize that my experience isn't indicative of the system as a whole and was still subjected to the same, sick incentive problems and moral hazards.

That 5 minute thrill anytime you and your girlfriend found time without adult supervision. I usually overcome it by remembering that I married that girl.
Games, I played Mario and countless other Sega and Nintendo classics, but my first OMFG moment in gaming was picking up the controller on Halo: CE at my cousins house. I skipped dinner, stayed up all night, and kept playing until about noon the next day before I beat the game.

Everyone has to decide for him or herself what's true and what's not.

Its not a simple decision.  And, the answers are not all there....

The answer of whether you believe something is true is there. Penn Gillette puts it best:
Do you know whether a god exists? no
Do you believe a God exists? no

Unless someone is an arrogant ass, the first question should always yield a 'no'. The second question is where believers and the non-blind diverge. If my best friend tells me he has an omnipotent invisible friend who judges his every thought and punishes him by hurting the people around him, do I really know whether he's lying? No. Do I believe him? No.

I was a Fundie Baptist for a large portion of my life. I converted to LDS about the time I was twelve and living with my mormon grandmother. When I was 17,   I started attending a Fundie Baptist church again after I moved back in with my mother (loose history). When I was 20 and in college, I read Atlas Shrugged.  Rand's criticism of spirituality initially turned me off to her message, but it planted the seed. I could no longer read the bible in the same light and soon couldn't even pray without feeling stupid. I read the Case for Christ, but that made it worse and Sam Harris' Letter to a Christian Nation finally tipped the scales. I find it amazing that otherwise intelligent people can possibly believe such obvious mythology and superstition, but it attests to the power of a dogmatic upbringing and the manipulation of guilt. It disgusts me.

I just moved to NH and my tags are good until April. Can I put off registering until then?

I'm here! Internet is getting set up tomorrow, so I should be back to lurking full time by then (after job-hunting all day and finishing my honeydo list that is). Anyway, I've got plenty of beer left over from the moving help party if someone (non creepers only) wants to bullshit and get me up to speed for a while.

Getting ready to tear down my PC and pack it up for the road. Finally headed to New Hampshire. If I post again in the next week or two, it'll be from my phone, so be understanding.

My prediction:

The candidate that conforms the most with liberty minded thinking and gets the most attention for being that... whoever he or she is, will get between zero and one-point-two percent of the national popular vote.

Just like they always do.

If I am wrong, call me out on it two weeks after the election (After the numbers have settled down) and I will make a video on Youtube of me licking a cake that has been made into the shape of a dog's asshole.

The cake will be of a flavor I do not like.

words marked. He's polling (for whatever that's worth) equal to or better than any other candidate in any poll outside of republican primary polls. Still don't think it means any more than another round of bukkake for us though...
