General / Claremont, New Hampshire
« on: December 15, 2010, 04:28:54 PM »
I'm looking at a job opening in Claremont. Any opinions of the area? I've never visited, but I probably will soon. What should I expect? What kind of town is it? What about the activism there?

General / Podcast Subscribers?
« on: June 22, 2010, 04:51:15 PM »
On Free Talk Live and the Liberty Conspiracy the hosts sometimes talk about their podcast statistics (how many subscribers they have and how many downloads per episode). I'm just wondering if anyone knows how to track these statistics. I am working for a non-profit that has a podcast and they are asking for my help on this, but I have no idea how to go about it and Google isn't being very helpful. All I know is that iTunes and Apple do not give you stats. If anyone has any ideas let me know. Thanks!

Digg will be interviewing him and they want your questions. So far, most of the possible questions seem tot be softballs.

"A law that was meant to protect the children seems to have had some adverse consequences. Under the guidance of the law federal officials are now advising that all children’s books published before 1985 be considered unsafe and may even be unlawful to sell."

Personally, I think this is a great idea. I guess we have to see how they utilize the information.

The Rapid Report System will be available starting July 6, through the NAACP website (www.naacp.org). The user-friendly online RRS form will allow residents to send instant texts, emails, or video reports of police abuse to the association via cell phone.

“Nationwide, more than 26,000 citizen complaints of police officer use of force were filed with state and local law enforcement agencies in 2002. However, because many incidents are not reported, this number does not capture the full magnitude of the problem,” Jealous said.
“Research has shown that there are many barriers to reporting incidents of police misconduct, including intimidation at police departments and a lack of trust in the integrity of the system, among other reasons. This breakdown leads to an absence of public safety and a deterioration of the quality of life in many communities of color. But public safety is a civil and a human right; and so we want a more accurate count of these incidents,” Jealous said.

LRN.FM - The Liberty Radio Network / Peter Schiff
« on: April 20, 2009, 09:20:29 PM »
Peter Schiff, Ron Paul's economic advisor and son of famous tax protestor Irwin Schiff, has a podcast called Wallstreet Unspun that I think would be a great addition to LRN. It focuses on economic news from the viewpoint of Austrian Economics.
