General / The last one... (homemade whiskey doc.)
« on: November 21, 2009, 09:56:01 PM »
Just caught a documentary on home whiskey distilling, "the last one." Definitely worth the watch... Couldn't find it straight-off for free. Might be a torrent, or keep an eye on the doc. channel.

Was followed by a doc. on the Florida "skunk ape" :)...

General / A single word - ungovernable
« on: October 30, 2009, 05:10:03 AM »
Shit! Lots of it on my mind... The urge to be violent runs strong... (Fucking self-important pigs with their ideas...) I won't make that argument, though.

In watching a "Los Crudos" vid earlier, a single word stuck out to me: ingobernables. If I picked just one word to say how I feel, I think that would be it.

Coupla links: (hardcore punk, though... Don't expect y'all'd like 'em.)

^ f-ing rocks! I keep watching, though I hate sharks (mako)...

Kapu! Called it first :).

General / A poem: The Bloody Sire - Robinson Jeffers
« on: September 10, 2009, 12:28:16 PM »
Just ran across this in some of my old stuff. I'm not intending to spark debate, just reproducing for reading enjoyment. Anyone looking for further reading might look up the philosophy of romantic-mysticism...

The Bloody Sire - Robinson Jeffers

It is not bad. Let them play.
Let the guns bark and the bombing-plane
Speak his prodigious blasphemies.
It is not bad, it is high time,
Stark violence is still the sire of all the world's values.

What but the wolf's tooth whittled so fine
The fleet limbs of the antelope?
What but fear winged the birds, and hunger
Jeweled with such eyes the great goshawk's head?
Violence has been the sire of all the world's values.

Who would remember Helen's face
Lacking the terrible halo of spears?
Who formed Christ but Herod and Caeser,
The cruel and bloody victories of Caeser?
Violence, the bloody sire of all the world's values.

Never weep, let them play,
Old violence is not too old to beget new values.

General / Just spent a 1/3 day in jail.
« on: August 18, 2009, 05:32:32 AM »
I just need to vent some on this...

Backstory: 3-1/2 years back, I was charged with two simple possesion charges (misdemeanors). I went to court on it, but the state hadn't filed their paperwork, so the charges were dropped. The state could re-file, and I was aware of that, but I thought they'd probably contact me about it.

My girlfriend is going in for a ~10 month stay, and had her first visitation day, so I thought I'd go see how she's doing. I filled out the paperwork and waited for about fifteen minutes, at which time a sheriff came in and asked for my identity. I knew what was up, but was the only person in the waiting room... Shit...

The short end of the story is that I spent ~8 hours processing in and back out and never saw a judge. Mind you, the whole mistake could have been cleared up in ~15 minutes. I'll go back in 2 weeks to find out that part of it. Luckily I was able to bond out, or I'd be there until whenever the judge felt like seeing me.

To top it off, the state decided to up the charges to felonies and throw in one for misconduct with a deadly weapon. (An unloaded 30-30 practice rifle becomes a felony if within a certain distance of plant material, apparently.)

It'll likely all be dropped, as their case is shit. (I know they didn't properly collect evidence at the time, and doubt 3 years improved their case.) It still sucks to have your day ruined like this.

The real shitty part is that this jail doesn't allow visitation from people who've spent time there, so I probably can't see my girl until she's transferred to a state prison...

General / Advocating libertarianism via media bs FTL
« on: December 19, 2005, 02:18:51 AM »
Sorry if this has been addressed...

As a person coming in from the left, "progressive," aspect, it seems to me, many of those "progressives" are a viable harvest for the libertarian community.

When presented with the "No Instantiation of Violence" principle, alone, I belive many of these people would at least consider the proposition. (I'll admit, many wouldn't go straight over, and many would get lost in endless argument, looking for proof before acting.)

However, the "left" is very fractured and many aren't in love with socialism; it's just the first idea they've heard which actually could benefit them. Many of them are freedom-loving gun nuts :), and would love to live freely, though the principles are alien.

The point of this post is that there are shows which run on wide networks, such as the pacifica radio network, which reach entirely different audiences, and that the hosts of these various shows could be enlightened, and spread the word of liberty.

Solamente dos centavos,
Clayton
