Russian alternatives 
No kidding. there's a russian website vk.com it's a socialnetwork site like facebook, but it's much more faster, easier, you can have more control of your page/group etc. If you created a group, you have total control over it, you can set the rules and moderate it in many ways, for instance - all comments and news can be moderated, you decide whether you want others to see them or not. Your group - Your rules. The site has about 70 millon daily users mostly from Russia and Europe. You can sign in with facebook. I don't know how this works (I don't have a facebook account) and if they allow this, than, my guess is, they may allow shared links between the 2 sites.
