The Show / To Mark, as per the Christian critiques
« on: November 09, 2014, 12:53:52 AM »
I don't see your commentary on the Bible as being hateful, I find it educational and fair. I regard myself as a Christian, and investigate the religion and my beliefs with as much honesty as I can, no matter how bitter the assessments may be. It's difficult to find information on Christianity that is as bold and honest as what you produce on FTL. I encourage you to keep it up, increase it even, if possible. Many religions and their belief are way overdue conscientious critical analysis.

The only critique I might give you would be that you do come across as very angry. I listen to FTL semi-regularly, enough to make an educated guess as to both your and Ian's personal flaws. Ian I think struggles with pride, while you definitely burden wrath. We all have our crosses to bear, and this isn't me attempting to call you all out. But, I think your rage produces a tone that could easily be confused with hate. You do your message a disservice when it's delivered in that tone, and distracts people from much needed information. I can look past it easily enough, we're emotional creatures and I can hear the pain in your voice. It made a great deal of sense to me when I heard you explain that the religiosity you grew up with did you a terrible disservice. However, I don't think other listeners can look past your anger so easily, and will likely confuse it as you being hateful on Christianity.

That's my appraisal on the matter. You all keep up the good work, and stay warm.
