This was actually suggested to one of my delivery drivers are she was accosted on a run by the clown with the badge, that by company policy I had to contact

what was suggested?
That she pick up one of these knife/pen or one of the hair brushes with a concealed knife and explained to her that it is much faster to pull and defend with instead of a gun. Well to be honest, he suggested a gun first but our company has a no weapons policy which includes women carrying pepper spray on a side note there is a class 3 arms dealer next door to my store and for the life of me i cant get him to even consider getting tigerlight flashlights

General / Dadhacker - 30 Years of C
« on: October 16, 2009, 06:58:28 AM »
30 years ago I learned C by reading the only book available on it, The C Programming Language by Kernighan and Ritchie. I didnít have access to a Unix system (Iíd accepted my first job, but it didnít start for about a month) so I just read the book cover-to-cover and wrote out the exercises on paper. When I started the job I had a quarter-inch stack of paper to type in and try out............

KDE is available in a third-party repository, and is quite heavily still in the process of porting, so it's not 100% stable and functional yet, but it is usable for me. Only major components I'm missing is an IRC client and an MSN/WLM client, pretty much everything else is there.

What was yer preferred IRC client?
I myself perfer console clients - bitchx and irssi (current client)
but I know that mirc will run under wine as im sure most M$ Platform clients will

I have never liked windows irc clients and I hate to say it, the worst are on GNU/OS at least since I last looked at them

With a small amount of effort irssi will also allow most if not all IM protocols to be used

Microsoft Windows, the operating system which has dominated desktop computing for decades, is in danger of collapsing, according to analysts at Gartner.

Microsoft's flagship product, which runs the vast majority of the world's PCs, has become so bulky and ill-equipped for the challenges of modern computing that it risks becoming obsolete, a pair of senior analysts at Gartner have said. .................

General / Re: Perl is dead. PHP sucks. Long live Python!
« on: September 06, 2009, 02:05:00 AM »
The September TIOBE Index continues to show a disturbing trend that I've tried to ignore for the past couple of months: Python is now declining, while PHP is growing big, now to become the third most popular programming language after Java and C, leapfrogging C++ and VB.

I think Microsoft including PHP in their Web Platform Installer [WP] is what's causing this...  (Here comes you-know-who to call me an astroturfer...)

I would prob have to agree with your reason for the increase

Have you visited checked out www.garf.org/index.shtml ?

Thats a really cool site.

I found it about 8 years ago I guess and its changed very little other then strains of "reef life" and some improvement in the prop techniques.

A Mister Goddard or a Mister Keith will be along shortly.

In the meanwhile, perhaps you'd like to view our fish tank.
