The Show / Re: Errors in last two show downloads
« on: October 05, 2011, 04:22:33 PM »
Glad the old ones will be fixed! I really wanted to hear Mondays. I just listened to the Rachel Maddow podcast to prove that it wasn't my phone or podcast player that was screwy.
Bout to download last nights. Hope it's  better.

General / How do I change my board name?
« on: September 27, 2011, 12:04:24 AM »
Since my real first name is showing up on the show prep, I feel kind of dumb using a fake name on the boards. How do I change the name that is shown here? This is such an embarrassingly stupid question that I will try to delete it within 10 minutes if it is not answered...
Thanks...

The Show / Re: Less Stephanie, Please
« on: September 27, 2011, 12:00:58 AM »
Yes.. It really bothered me that she felt the need to call in about it. Not that I was conflicted on the issue. As a very stable female, I really don't care whether some random dude calls me "Honey", "Hey Woman," or "her". Can't really even remember what specifically bothered her, but... the jerks will be jerks. I can generally determine a persons type by how they talk to me, not the gender specific adjective that they refer to me by.
She had no real reason to respond to some random phone troll... That bothered me a bit. I know that she is still new to this, and I am sure that she will become even more resilient as the days go by. Gah... I love and miss Ian on the show, but I am going to be sad to see the co-hosts go.

The Show / Re: Stephany. problem with "money bomb"
« on: September 26, 2011, 10:18:03 PM »
Clearly, It bugs her. A host should be allowed to interject her own personal feelings into dialogue. I can see WHY It bothers her, but IMO, it is not a big deal either way. We all get that Ron Paul is not going to bomb people. She seems slightly hyper-sensitive, but that's ok. I enjoy her input either way. It's not like she harps on the issue for hours. She simply mentioned her discomfort with the term, then moved on.

I LIKE Stephanie, but her extreme feminists interjections into the conversation annoy me ever so slightly. Not enough to make a forum post over though, or make a crank call over. It's not any worse than Ians need to define everything.
People all have their own quirks, that is what makes them unique. Apparently, the feminist thing is Stephanie's. I think that she is very talented and I enjoy listening to her on the air. I have actually grown to respect ALL Of the co-hosts more since Ian's incarceration. I used to avoid the Sunday show because all they talked about was Keene and other topics that were irrelevant to me or any listener who might NOT be a part of the NH community. Mark is keeping her on the format of the show, and since the show where she was the sole host, I see that she now GETS it! She is great now, and one of my favorite female hosts... second to Michelle maybe, still haven't decided :-)

The Show / Re: Activism for it's own sake is silly.
« on: September 25, 2011, 05:17:08 AM »
Well, as far as constructive criticism goes... I think that the Keene activists should attempt to behave in a way that tries to draw the community in, rather than making them feel like outsiders. On FreeKeene, someone posted a video of the public talking about what to do about Central Square. They seemed to blame the FSP'ers for the breach in tranquility that is going on in their town. I'm all for civil disobedience if it is over something important, but staged protests every two days might make one feel a bit oogy...
For instance, the video that they posted recently of Derrick and people marching around the square singing "Give Peace a Chance". I'm all for being able to smoke mj, but the marching and the singing seemed just weird, and I was just watching it. What were they marching for? the right to smoke marijuana in public? What if people don't want to be around smoke? Why can't they meet at someone's home? The people watching it likely were just as clueless on the protest. Maybe make some signs or something as to why you're protesting? I know it was well-meaning, and I am sorry that Derrick got arrested... But failure to assimilate to a new culture is a large reason that racism exists. That is likely the reason that many of the natives in Keene are starting to dislike FSP'ers. Try to preach your message 1 on 1 with people, rather than in large groups and protests.
Just think about it... How would you feel if a local church was doing what you're doing? Preaching through megaphones at those on the street, speaking in tongues in central square, and taking communion in public, it would just feel weird, right?!

Thanks for the link Alaric! I'm thrilled to hear more ladies from yesterday again. Listening now :-)
I guess as a female, it's nice to have another females point of view now and again. Although I absolutely love Ian Mark, Dale and the rest of the cohosts

The Show / Re: Sir Real
« on: July 26, 2010, 07:28:44 PM »
I caught a bit of this conversation, and my thoughts went as follows:

1.  "Where the hell does this guy get off making declarations about what 'women' want?  As if we all want the same thing?"

2.  "This doesn't sound at all like an FTL conversation."

3.  "If I had the opportunity to meet this guy......I wouldn't."

Yeah, I guess that is kind of obnoxious when someone claims that all women are exactly the same. There are a lot of women with incredibly strong personalities that wouldn't take that at all (My best friend being one of them). However, I think that he was right in that many women are that way, and want a man to take charge and be a man. I can see how he could have been offensive to some though. And... If it's a complete stranger that is acting that way, and not a man that I respect, they're douchebags IMO. However, personally... If I wasn't married, I might actually want to meet him! lol ;-)

I'd call in, but I don't listen to the show live. FTL is my daytime entertainment while I do housework, work in Photoshop, etc...
But I just had to say that MOST of Sir Real's points on the last podcast I agreed with. Yes, women like to be dominated, even if only minimally.
Like when he told Mark to grab his wifes hands, hold them behind her back, then kiss her.
Wow.. That's some crazy good, incredibly sexy advice. Wish my husband would do that to me. It's not violent, but it just shows that he's in charge. Maybe all women don't agree, but personally, I like that.

The only thing that I disagree with is that women like to be sluts.
We like for guys to make us sluts, but just to be one?! Nah, not really. I hate it when my husband begs me to dirty talk. If I was better at it, then it would be just fine, but I'm not, and the mental effort just takes all the fun out of sex.
Seriously guys, just take charge, and let us know who's boss ;-)

I appreciate your honesty. I shall continue to be a bane on guys like Sir Real however, I may have been one of the greatest wing men in my day, but now I have two daughters. I want guys to be themselves and woman to appreciate the honesty of them doing so.
Woman wanting this bullshit is part of the problem, honest good guys get lost in the pile. Better for woman to get to know a real person and she can simply tell him wtf she likes when they have a safe comfort zone.

I have a daughter too, and I see where you're coming from. Maybe I need to listen to his comments again, but from what I remember, he didn't talk about pickups that much, but mainly said that women like very manly men that can step up and take charge. He didn't advocate beating women as far as I remember. Personally, I'm not into that type of thing, but yes, maybe I'm amongst the few, but I like a man that can take charge both in the bedroom, and in life. I don't mean that I want my husband to boss me around, but if there is a tough decision, and we both have strong opinions, someone has to be a dealbreaker, and that's him. I'm cool with that.
I suppose if a guy is not really that way, then you're right... It would be just as wrong to try and make him that way as it would be to strong-arm your girlfriend into getting cosmetic surgery if she clearly doesn't want it. Guys that come off strong like that when you first meet them have always repulsed me. I just think that it's ok for a man to be a man and not the sensitive crying type that has to beg for permission from his girlfriend/wife to do anything.

Show us your tits.

Erm.. The whole "Let us know who's boss' only works if you have a previous sexual relationship or potential interest. So... sorry, no tits for you. Nice try.
They have topless Tuesdays in Keene though! You might have fun there ;-)

Thank you Thank you! I was just looking for that!
Couldn't find ANYTHING. You never know when these guys could get carted off to jail, so a missing podcast puts up some red flags. ;-) Glad to know all is still well!

Apparently, this features only politicians that have been electable in NH, unless I got the site wrong. Either way... I'm not even from there, (or a free stater) and I found it incredibly funny.

...especially this chick.

The Show / Re: Was there a show for Monday June 29?
« on: June 30, 2009, 06:45:40 PM »
what happened to non aggression principle?

It wasn't aggression: They were peacefully transporting goods, and some people tried to kidnap them for doing so. Smuggling is a peaceful activity, remember - those that try to prevent or punish it are the aggressors.

Seriously, though, Ian blogged at FreeKeene.com on Monday,, so he must have been OK for most of the monday. Maybe they just needed a break after the weekend?

Hrmn... I hadn't heard of all that, but in my curiosity, I checked FreeKeene, and saw the blog (didn't read it though), so I assumed that either they're all-right, or that if anything went down it was Monday Night or so. I hope the former is the case.
For once I'm going to listen live just to see though. :-)
