Free Radio Forum / Re: LPFM?
« on: June 18, 2010, 12:36:41 AM »Unfortunately, this all just means I can't pursue this activity at this time. What's your call? Mine is KB0OXD
If someone else were to set up, erm, "community radio", I would likely support them in some way or another. After all, I got a "Novice" ham radio license waaaaay back in the late-70's, so maybe I could give them "technical advice". Yeah, that's the ticket...
I'm with you Goddard. As much as I'd like to just grab my ICOM IC-706 MKII-G & climb as high as I can on my political soapbox, the fact of the matter is not only would I be in violation of Federal law & risk losing my license in the process but I also wouldn't have a very big audience listening to me to begin with (No HF antenna & nothing to make one with).
That's why I turn to Internet Radio where the WHOLE WORLD[/u][/i] is my oyster
Would I like to add a Part 15 or LPFM TXer to that? Of course I would. Even as I type this, I'm debating whether to go all OTR (Old Time Radio), all talk or even a combination of both Talk & OTR if I only had one TXer. But all that may become a moot point as I'll soon be moving into a ground floor apartment (A High Rise Building). It's got a patio but it's not going to be easy getting an RF signal out (No matter what service I'm on, band I'm on or how much output power I run).
I'm even gonna have to use the Internet just to talk with other Hams (We have our own ways of accomplishing this ).
So there you have it - My situation FWIW.....
Cheers

Free Radio Forum / Re: Introducing the Liberty Radio Network - Programming for your station, 24/7!

First off - N00bie here so please bear with me (And be nice )
And even if I did have a Part 15 TXer, I would still bump Fox News because I'm one who happens to believe that Fox News = Fixed News - UNFAIR & UNBALANCED. Not only that, but here in Denver, we have a 50,000 watt blowtorch (Chump Channel-owned KOA Radio) who is the official Fox News affiliate. Kinda hard to buck those guys & expect to have a chance of keeping an audience afterward.
What do I replace Fox News with you ask? Headlines from Free Speech Radio News who can only be found on a handful of Pacifica Radio affiliates. I like my chances by going this route
Cheers
You think that's bad, I have to COMPLETELY BUMP Fox News at the top of the hour when relaying ANYTHING from LRN (I've been relaying FTL for about a week now - Feel free to kill me if you want guys!) because my Internet Radio is on Live365 & retransmitting Fox News on there would be umm.....A violation of Live365's TOS. Otherwise, no real big deal (Yeah right - Afterall, what's the worst thing that can happen beyond losing my account with them?)Finally heard it again! During live FTL. Out of spots it says You're listening to the live edition of Free Talk Live on the Liberty Radio Network, blah blah Genisis, blah visit us online at freetalklive.com ..........dot com.
I've noticed other spots getting cut off early, so it may be an automation bug.
Yeah, those rejoins are a little rough, because I'm overriding GCN's liner. I'm going to extend the length of the rejoin liners a bit.
