Vector Art
« on: September 21, 2008, 10:08:44 PM »

I found a website that can turn any image into vector art. http://www.vectormagic.com/ I've been playing with this thing and the results are pretty decent.

I just made this image from a photo that I took at the O'Hare airport yesterday morning.

Oh and the website puts an advertising text at the bottom of the image, but I just crop it out anyways.

I wonder what kind of software do most professionals use to make these? I've tried doing it in Adobe Illustrator, but I wasn't very successful.

Yeah, I think I might have to take a class at a community college on how to use Adobe Illustrator. I'm 'tarded.  :?

That looks cool. Were you using a Cannon SD(some number) camera to take those pics? I think I'm noticing a pattern in Cannon's exposure style.

Heck, I've been working with Adobe Illustrator almost daily since good old Illustrator 88, and I should still take a class on how to use it.
The latest versions do so much, and have so many features which crossover between products, and all the automation and special effects and filters that I feel like a dinosaur.
