I have the BBC America channel, but I don't know what the difference between that and the actual BBC is.

BBC America is actually a Discovery Networks channel. They have a license with the BBC to show their programs.

Are there private S.W.A.T. forces?

are you sure though?

I used to work as a graphic designer at a large silk-screening factory, and it's quite easy to slap on "Anytown, PD" and have additional elements added w/ no questions asked.

I'm not saying it's impossible of course, I just question it's origin.

Yeah, I worked with SWAT teams and SORT teams and they all have both privately made T-shirts made, and others are bought through the department or prison via some affiliation.  Sometimes fairs and gun shows have them.

Interesting, so designs like that are officially endorsed by said dept's?

Not that I know of.  The only uniform that is acceptable is what the department decides is SOP.  Usually a plain black T-shirt and black tactical pants and black boots for SWAT and SORT team members, and usually officers can vary slightly because they carry more weight, but in all, nobody deviates from this.  The guy in that pic above is wearing a NOMEX suit, and he has obviously pulled it down due to the heat most likely, and he can be punished for this by the CO if he gets caught and if it actually is enforced.  But, most likely, nothing happened, and the officer in the picture was just never penalized for breaking SOP.

Apparently this is an actual New Orleans P.D. shirt!?!   Holy Shit.

Both SS and the swat team pictures borrow from the Norse mythological symbology for power, yet both fail to realize that the symbolic association of Thor and Odin to lightning is only vague, both deities had their own respective symbols. And both deities were primarily deities of wisdom, knowledge, and justice, and not symbols of authority.

I have the BBC America channel, but I don't know what the difference between that and the actual BBC is.

It has adverts and shows that are not made by the BBC on it.

BBC has no ads and shit shows that the public pay for through a £145 a year tax.

what's this? every tax-paying citizen receives an actual 145 pound bill specifically for the BBC? and people aren't freaking out?
usually w/ socialism they hide all the costs in the general taxes so people won't realize what crap they're paying for....

That picture was dumb, I don't dig this anti-Israel attitude at all.

I do think that some of the "licence fee" goes to the other free to air channels like ITV, C4 and Five - but not sure.

BBC want to increase the "TV licence fee" as well. Private television companies want a slice of the licence fee because they say that the BBC have an unfair advantage because they are able to tax the public, therefore having a guaranteed income without having to justify it. There are no ads though, which is nice in a way...

...would rather have decent television rather than the (cheap) rubbish DIY shows they put on - although the documentaries and most radio stations are good.

but yes, the "television licence fee" as it is known is a tax on top of all the other taxes. if you dont pay, then you go to court and get a £1000 fine.

If you still own a black and white tele, the licence fee is something like £45. You have no choice but to pay, you can subscribe to a private cable or satellite company, but you have to pay their subscription fee and the government tv licence. New Zealand scrapped this tax years ago because of public outrage - the UK seem to still want it for some strange reason.

its a joke.
