Funny, but anyone that joins the military and doesn't think they could go to war deserves what they get.

Only a fool would join the military freely.

Yeah the CBC and the BBC are shit. They're paid for by the government, and thus they must comply with what the government allows them to say.

Well, the BBC surprisingly gets away with saying a lot about the United States.  The thing is; it is never televised over here.  And very few Brits really care about what is happening over here in America.  They view conspiratorial information as intently as Shanek or some other neanderthal in denial.  It slips right through the cracks.

Thankfully, we do have some sources in the UK.  The thing is, though...a person has to have a license to watch television over there.  Can you imagine?  A license to watch TV?  Nuts.

Yup, a friend of mine is over in the UK for a graduate program and she said that there are "TV police" that harass her every now and then because they can't believe she doesn't have a license for her residence (she doesn't have a TV).  I think it is all the BBC.

Actually it was an implied statement.  The words, written in the dialect which we human beings speak, suggest via being the language we use to communicate with one another -that you are obviously missing the point, and that you talk too much as well. :P

Sometimes I think libertarians take things too far.  You know the quote about being able to hold two opposing thoughts in your mind at the same time.. Well, take the BBC / CBC / NPR for example.  I can both disagree with the idea that government funds news and entertainment, and at the same time state that those sources are the most factual and do the best job reporting the news objectively.  And for the record, my NPR station is almost 90% supported by private money.  When you take into account all the political favors Clear Channel and Big Media get, I'm betting they are more "government subsidized" than NPR is.

And what about these BBC films people are always posting here?  I've seen the one on Stupidity and the 3 part expose on Al Quaeda--but the BBC is shit right?

No.  The BBC has some great in-depth reporting.  The thing is, they are never aired in the USA, so it matters very little who sees them.

Think about it.  Mainstream corporate media OWNS most of the minds in this country.  That is fact, undeniably.  Alternate media (which is where we sometimes get the BBC documentaries) is a tiny fruit fly compared to the (Bear the size of Africa) corporate media.

I have the BBC America channel, but I don't know what the difference between that and the actual BBC is.

Night and day.  Everything that comes to the US is censored.
