But Chomsky's not at all supported by the corporate media. I taped this show on him (haven't gotten around to watching it all) done by the CBC (Canadian Broadcast Co) and it showed how many speeches, books, talks, etc. he gave, and he was only on ONE American news show over this several year period.. He said some controversial things and then was never invited on ANY US media. He may be a socialist, but he makes some very good points, such as how the US is the one committing war crimes by invading Iraq, etc. As for the world/UN stuff, I don't know his position but I think he's somewhat pro-UN / world court mostly because he wants to set up a rule of law. International law has to exist to some extent, or else nations can do whatever they want to other nations without retribution (or I suppose you could say, free market responses, but those haven't worked very well.. we are not suffering from attacking Iraq even though much of Europe was vehemently opposed). But I am by no means a Chomsky expert and haven't even read any of his books yet. I just think he's really really smart and makes some great points. And I always enjoy hearing from an intelligent linguist, as language and its use really fascinates me, especially the orwellian propaganda that insidiously is poisoning the mind of young Americans today.
