No doubt and always a good idea!

I've seen a couple of people post messages regarding image hosting.  I've got a web-based image upload thing that I made a couple of years ago for a friend of mine and I'd be happy to let FTL listeners use it for free.  Here's the info you need:

1.  This offer is being extended to FTL AMPlifiers only.  I'm posting it in a general thread so that everyone knows about it, just in case you needed one more reason to help out.  Now your $3 / month helps to spread the word and as an added bonus you can have image hosting.  I know it's not a strong selling point, but it's all I've got.

2.  The interface is best described as "god-awful".  I have no design abilities whatsoever, so it's all just plain text.  It's very simple, it works all kinds of fast and it'll handle most any kind of image you want to throw at it...but it looks like ass.

3.  You'll have to e-mail me: torgo@freetalklive.com and let me know you want an account.  Your e-mail needs to contain your desired username and password so I can set up your account for you.

4.  The address is:  http://imghost.eatshirt.com

5.  I'm funnier than Jason.  Deal with it.

I think that's all you need in order to get started.  If anyone wants it, just toss an e-mail in my general direction.

First, you are free to do with your bandwidth what you want and offer it with whatever strings you want...

But, you say you are willing to let FTL listeners us it for "FREE"... then in number one, you state that it is only being extended to FTL AMPers... who pay the 3 bucks a month... and you mention something about being a (maybe weak) SELLing point.

Soooooo is it free? No. Then why say it is free. And if its free, then how does it have a SELLing point. You don't SELL something for free.

Maybe "free" isn't exactly the best term to use.  What I meant by that is that I, personally, am not making any profit or collecting funds of any kind for the use of the service by FTL AMPlifiers.  As a means of showing my appreciation for their willingness to help support the show, I'm happy to let them make use of my server and bandwidth.  No portion of the AMP money goes to me, so in my mind it works as giving it away "for free".  Sorry for the confusion.

Can I use your site to host a mirror for the "interdictor" blog photos?

Even though I don't AMP, can I use your site to post these blackmail photos I have of Ian.

I have:

A membership list in the Democratic Party with Ian's signature.

I have a photo of Ian smiling and shaking hands with Bush I.

I have a photo of K-mart shirt, size Small with a semen stain purportedly (has not been authenticated)  from former President Bill Clinton. There is a nametag attached  but I can only make out "AN". there is no face, and therefore it might be "JEAN" or "SEAN" and not "IAN".

If the answer is "no, you must AMP" then I am sorry, but you will have to remotely view the pictures.  :P

I will amp as soon as I get my damn paycheck... : (

Torgo, I would like to make your site a CSS stylesheet. I would make the file, and then all you'd have to do is add little specks of code to parts of it... heck, if I do it without classes, you wouldn't even have to do much else than a <link rel=""> thing. Sorry, I don't know how much you know about this.

I am positively scatterbrained, so I'm not reliable, but certainly motivated.

I have the mother-lode listing of hosting sites (image and other types) posted at my forum.  It's a lonnggg list..  http://fantalkback2talkhosts.myfreeforum.org/ftopic7.php

The thing I've noticed most from my time on the Stern Fan boards is the biggest thing these folks ban for (aside from porn) is size abuse...  If ImageShack or ImageVenue sees fit to issue a thumbnail link, and you post the full sized photo instead - they'll ban the entire forum (maybe the entire domain).  TinyPic forcibly resizes your picture.  ImageShack recently added an option for them to resize for you during the upload process.  For the porn, you may do better with Tongo...  Photobucket is one of the few that has not banned SternFanNetwork...

I keep all my pix in a shoebox, top shelf of the closet.  I imagine the cops will upload them to a server for me, eventually.

I love you Torgo, but how is this superior to bayimg?

In case someone doesn't know (and didn't follow the link), it's free uncensored image hosting from The Pirate Bay developers.
